Skyrim mod questions

I've since read about Requiem, and how it de-levels the whole game, and how it's a bit more rock-paper-scissors regarding magic/combat/stealth. I really like the sound of this (I loved that in Morrowind if you went into the wrong cave too early you would be completely destroyed), so I'd like to use this mod, ideally with one of the mods for an alternate start (the options seeming to be Alternate Start/New Beginnings, or Skyrim Unbound.

I've updated my mod list, and tried to remove all of the mods from it which effect gameplay seeing as Requiem seems to be a huge mod that takes care of most of it for you. I've also added a few mods which apparently increase performance because my computer is oldish now relatively-speaking:

The only mods I'm wondering might not work well with Reqiuem are the "Creatures and Animals" mods which add quite a bit (and might make the game even harder?), "Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim" which adds lots of new spells (would it make a magic user overpowered?), and Thunderchild which adds lots of shouts (would that make a player overpowered?).
Does anyone think that any of the above mods would "unbalance" the balance of Requiem?
And would anyone recommend Alternate Start or Skyrim Unbound, particularly with Requiem? For the different start I originally thought that I liked the idea of starting as a completely random character in a random location as it would be fun to find out who I was and develop from there. But then I thought that given the size of the game and the time it takes to play (even more so when you add mods with more content, and I guess Requiem would further increase the game length as it sounds like you have to be patient and build up gradually), I wondered if it might be better to be able to choose the character type, and in my case I'd like to play as a pure magic-user first off, although I'd be happy to start in a random place.
I'm also reading threads about Requiem and many people struggle early on. I'm happy to accept that while I'm low-level it will be tough and I'll have to be smart, avoid higher-level enemies etc., but at the same time I'd hope it wouldn't be frustrating. I did see a webpage somewhere (can't remember the link now) which had a list of mods to compliment Requiem and assist low-level characters by giving them simple quests to carry out so that they could get some experience and build themselves up. Does anyone know of any mods that might make Requiem a little less nightmarish for the new characters?
I'm also reading that magic-users can struggle in Requiem? Is that the case? If so would there be any mods that could counteract that and make it fair?

Looking through the various mods that add content, it seems that some of them unbalance Requiem a bit, so Iâve updated my mod list to hopefully better suit Requiem. Iâll start a new thread in the Requirm section, if anyone is able to give any opinions then that would be great.
