SaturnC
I've looked through some topics but I have to get off the computer in a minute so it’s faster to ask this question, which I’m sure, has been asked before. How do I download from the site? Someone mentioned “Files” but when I click on Files, I see plenty of downloads I want but can't find a button or link to click on for the download to start. I'd appreciate any help on this and I do apologize for asking this question, I just was not able to find my reply in several searches of the forum. gashie
Hi there. On the site, once you click on the file tabs and see the list, you should hover your mouse over the orange tint coloured text and click on it. This pops up a window for you to choose from which server you want to download the file. Choose the desired one and you should be good to go. Example (referring to the orange tint text i mentioned): Armour and Sword <--click on this oneomod version1024kb, 9 download Hope that helps! SaturnC
I really appreciate your help guys but I still am unable to find anything clickable to download. I've tried right clicking on the link and Save Target As and it saves something called file but it is not the actual download. I've never had so much trouble trying to figure out how to grab a download from a site before, and bben46, I tried your tutorial and again, when I right click on it, all I get is file to download and it's not the actual file. At one point I went to a different page but all the icons didn't work so I didn't know what to click on. How do you get a download here? This is very frustrating!! ;)
bben46
? At no point in the download do you Right click! Find the mod you want to download in the list.Left click on the name of the modThe information screen for that mod will pop upDirectly below the picture there are several lines of text the third line has 'Description, Files, Images, etcLeft click on FilesA new line will pop up below with the file name of that mod. There may be several versions, pick the one you want.Left click on that name Then, depending on your browser, you will get a pop up that usually asks if you want to save or run the file. select save.I use Firefox, IE may be slightly different. Then you should get a pop up asking where you want to save the file. Show it where to save and click on the save button.Don't forget where you saved it as you will need that information to unzip and install it. The file will be saved in a compressed format (zip, 7-zip, winrar)You must unzip it to install it. If that doesn't work, I suspect something is blocking your download - such as some security feature on your computer.

TheG427
Yeah, I have a problem, after I left click on the mod, it comes up with a screen that says File Download at the top and I have three choices Open, Save, or cancel, and it seems to do that with every mod, I mean, I've already downloaded the Akatosh Mount mod, but, I'm having trouble understanding how to download, what you're saying is nothing like what I did to download that mod, but I do have a problem with that mod, whenever I go near the IC horse stables my whole Oblivion crashes, is it partly because I downloaded it differently? I mean I downloaded everything I needed to download to get it, and it still freezes, I'm just confused about the whole thing, first lets start with the open, save, cancel thing. What do I do there? bben46
It sounds to me as if you are trying to associate the crashing with the failed download. They are likely totally separate things and we need to tackle one at a time. As to the download. when you get to the 3 choices - Open, Save or Cancel. Pick save. If at some point in the past, you have selected a 'do this with all files like this from now on' It may not wait for you to tell it where to save. Then you have to figure out where Windows put your file. You can use 7zip (or some other compatible unzipping program to unzip it from there. Always unzip into the /Oblivion/data folder. As to the crashing, the author of that mod specifies that it needs some other stuff to work . This is a quote from from his explanation: This Mod REQUIRES my Custom Creature's Modder's Resource http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=2666 http://tessource.net/files/file.php?id=10338 Unpack that resource into your oblivion folder everything should get put where it belongs, then take the skeletonmount.nif from this release and add it to the --> oblivion\data\meshes\saidenstorm\creatures\akatosh folder Add the Akatosh By Saiden Storm.esp into --> oblivion\data Open Oblivion launcher click data files "X" that esp and play :) You should have picked an easier mod to try first. I recommend my help files on how to get started with mods here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ There is a sample mod to practice on and easy to follow instructions on how to get it into your game.
