NorthMarkers

Okay, so I have recently needed to make lots of interiors for a city. Creation and linking is all old hat for me, the issue is NorthMarkers. You know, those ridiculous things that tell your compass which way to point when you aren't in an exterior worldspace? Well, my question is this. Is it possible to simplify creating NorthMarkers? Trying to get the markers to line up just so so that the transition through the doorway won't cause the compass to go crazy is itself crazy. And I have alot of them to do. Is the process doomed to stay tedious, or is there a better way? A NorthMarker generator, perhaps?

One solution would be to copy the door on the exterior, paste it in place in the interior, rotate it 180 if it's a 1 sided load door, Build your interior with the normal orientation off to the side, then rotate the entire interior to match the rotation of the door... Or place a north marker in scene (always starts as pointing north, and use the rotation of the door to get the rotation of the marker. Unless you're doing something modular, like caves, rotating the whole interior after some basic cluttering ends up being a bit easier.

As for speeding things up with interiors. You might want to look at some of the test cells which came with the game, a few of them have fairly good arrangements of clutter, books, and other stuff which can speed up interior generation greatly. You can also copy arrangements from some of the other interiors. There are many houses and such that most people have never been inside. Just try to mix things up a little bit so that it doesn't look like a copy and paste job everywhere.
