doctorofdarkness
So I opened up the GECK for the first time yesterday and I've been having a great time with it; probably rashly, after much fiddling about, I decided to try my hand at an external area - Denver, no less, Dog City, filled with skyscraper-dwelling scavengers. And, you know, I didn't think it was going badly for a beginner, I was having a lot of fun with it. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x364/grotto2/denver1new.jpg?t=1335966610 http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x364/grotto2/denver2new.jpg?t=1335966657 And then this happened; http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x364/grotto2/denver3new.jpg?t=1335966705 The unused cells around the edge of the area I was working on have risen up into the sky far above the city. I'm not sure when it happened, exactly, but I'd been messing about with the landscape and water height earlier, so I naturally assumed it was a result of altering 'default landscape height' in the world spaces tab, and I tried to change it back. No luck - the cells remained firmly in the clouds. So - do any of you wonderful people happen to know exactly what sort of foul-up I've committed and how I can bring everything back to ground-level? Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot.It is indeed caused by messing round with landscape height. This happened to me a few times when I was starting off in the GECK. If I remember correctly I had no success trying to remedy the problem with the original worldspace. What I eventually did was to create a new worldspace, select and copy all the objects from your old worldspace (I did this by zooming right out of the cell looking down, and selecting highlighting everything a drag of the mouse) and then pasting into your new worldspace. If there is another way then I'd be pleased to hear it.
Carnatics
when this bug strikes the best way to eleminate it is to change the worldspace height in the worldspace editor in the geck klick on the upper toolbar @ world and select worldspaces... in the popup window change yourdefault landheight load your worldspace in the render window ( any cell ) rechange the default landheight back klick in the render window and hit f5 now everithing should be fine note: if only single quads are missing load the exterior cell with the missing quads open the landscape editing tool(found also under the "world" dropdown menu and doo a single klick in the center of the missing quads they should now appear correctly.... hope this helps edit i kmnow what happend to the topic starter okay budy you might changed the height of the liftet areas with a rightklick on the cell view and changed the height right ? if so it is wrong and had to happen to change the height of an area you have to use the landscape editing toolfound under "world" in the upper middle of the geck main window... sorry a saw it a bit to late ;) Edited May 17, 2012 by Carnatics
