lol ok here is somthing that will save you some time open up all the main esm's you have and export the game settings then import that file into your blank esp

also befor i forget you need an internal cell with the id tag you can name it whatever you want "imperial prisson ship" exept speled properly (the starting cell that the game looks for with hardcoded determination) your player should apear at this cell at position 0,0,0 if it indeed exists also the variable chargenstate should be set to whatever morrowind has it set to in the esm i think 0 sounds obvius but you can never be to carfull this should help :)

ok did that but I still have no title screen! :angry2:

I found the script that tells morrowind where to stop so i changed it to a interior cell that i wanted the game to start in. But still no title screen. :(

So i tried with a "imperial prison ship" 1. Nope!

So do you know why this isn't working?

Oh and i did the settings too. :)

PS That script is CharGen if you want to look at it! ;)

Ill keep tryin though! I'm no quiter!!!! B)

lol no its not char gen there is another inbuilt script :) and unless you have an imperial prison ship cell it wont like you very much at all :)

you got a main script

you got the global variables

you should also have a script called chargen for the purposes of ... character generation :) might want to whack in that random100 variable you see in the morrowind main as it may be used by invisable scripts (yes there is such a thing i have had problems with them befor like the limit on the number of global variables you are alowd to have at any one time)

... lol did i forget to mention you need to make an npc called player? :)

i think i did :) hehehe sorry my bad nother of those YOU NEED THIS things :)

also it is a good idea to make a generic class and race to set the player as :) (they dont need to have boddy parts associated to them but it helps) :)

hehe i cant beleave i dident add that to the first list...

*slaps himself in the forehead*

heh allso if you are going to use the weathers you may want to have a look at the morrowind esm and bloodmoon esm and take note of the sounds of rain wind snow ect and put your own or the original ones in there :)

but yeah npc called Player VERY important

Hey wookie,

We are actually getting somewhere!! Yey! :D

Ok now it tells me(when i load it up), that there will b no animation for soultrap, absorb and something else. Then it exits,(even when i say yes to 'Continue running executionable' or watever.

oh and I got to the title screen once! i think it was a glitch, then when i clicked new Game it said that it couldn't find the Argonian Race with some 'race check' script or something. Does this mean I have to have this race, and possibly the other 9 in my TC? <_< Or at least have them defined as races? thanks for all your help so far and i hope you can still help! B)

lol sure i can help these efects are in the static section :)

youll need to open up the OLD morrowind again and look for the VFX_Soul_Trap ect take note of what they use ect and mimic them youll need to get all of them there are about 6 i think :) (not going to tell you all of them you should be able to figure it out from the warnings.txt) but let me tell you your almost done :)

about the argonian thing, it shouldent be checking for it if you have just cut and paste the char gen scripts i can see this problem occuring so kill everything exept main (and tab out any start chargen clauses within main)

almost there man :) and you will have done it yaself :)

Gettin there!! :D

All i need to know is do i need the script called "RaceCheck" amd "slave Script". i copied them in cos I thought I might need them but they are causing problems! are they important. the slave 1 just wants me to make a slaver bracer but i haven't got round to it but it should be ok! the other 1 is to the the engine what race the player is. like 1 = Argonian etc. I presume that niether of these are needed(straight away ne way) Is that it? I have a Title screen(yey!! ) and everything seems to work. A bit more testing and I can get on to making something that isn't a blank thing!! lol!! ^_^

Couldn't have done this without u! ;)

you dont need the race check (well you might but you can wright your own later when ya do) and ya dont need the slave scripts (again maby you do i dunno what your TC will be like)

and YES you could of done this without me :)

i did it without help (it took a fair bit longer ill admit but yeah)

then if you wana make it into an esm Daerk is the man to talk to as i think it was he who discoverd it :)

in the morrowind ini file there is a tab setting [WhoCanMurge]

underneath it put the user name your loged in with (or computer name) and then directly after that (no spaces) an =1 and you should have a murge to master option in the TESCS that will turn your blank esp to a blank esm :) thank Daerk thouroly for that one... I did :)

Ye i got that tip from someone else... Lord of the cheese i think. Well whether i could or could not have done this without you, im still grateful. B) Oh and is it the CharGen script that decides where you start or not? u kinda confused me a bit when you talked about "invisable" scripts....... I don't like the sound of them!! lol

heh invisable scripts are esentualy the code of the game that determins the limitations of the game (veiw distance, max number of global variables max amount of lines per script max and min hight of terrain ect) there not scripts as such but when you break one of these rules it reports it as an error with a script that you cant see and thus cant correct :) its a ROYAL pain and i suspect that if a bunch of skilled coders got there hands on the source code morrowind could be revamped and streemlined

but about the starting position ... my advice

still have a cell called imperial prison ship and in the chargen script set the player to a place you see fit (wether its there or not) if it works dell the imperial prison ship if then it crashes keep it in but make it just a blank interior cell :) couldent hurt :) and its the easyest way to make a blank esp that will work without modifications to the morrowind ini file

speaking of that

during char gen when you bring up the class menu the game will crash if you pick to decide your class based on questions if you want to avoid this ether edit the morrowind ini (then the old morrowind wont work properly for char gen) or remake all those classes just tab them as unplayable :) and ask ppl politly not to do the question bit (or get an ini editor to switch back and forth between your tc and morrowind) the choice is yours :)

So many choices, so little time.....

I think ill try them all, see which 1 works the best. But ill back up my .ini just in case! ^_^

So when i get around to putting some info of my TC on my site ill PM u! But that won't be 2 soon because im modding for the few years..... ;)
