HmCabrera
As the title states, I have been playing Fallout 4 for a good amount of time. But I have not really delved into modding the game itself. Before and still am somewhat, I would just download the mods I want then select everything and install via the NMM. I have attempted to follow some guides and videos on how to do the load order but I am unsure of my progress. If someone could look at my load order and check it out, I would greatly appreciate it. audiodef
I see you have a bashed patch, so I assume you made that with Wrye Bash. After sorting with LOOT, open Wrye Bash and check the plugin list for orange/red entries. Those are not sorted properly, even if LOOT says they are. You can move plugins in Wrye Bash or NMM until all plugins are green in Wrye Bash. If any of the referenced masters for an orange plugin in Wrye Bash is an .esm, you won't be able to move those masters. For that, open FO4Edit and use the "Sort masters" option for that particular orange plugin. Once you have done all that, you should be good to go as far as load order goes. HmCabrera
Okay, so I have it where on Wrye, everything is green. What, in your opinion, should I do in regards to mods that may overlap and content is missing or not showing up? Or from looking at the mods I have, do you have any suggestions on if I should have them or a better option? I need all the help I can get, thank you. audiodef
If you have missing content, then try making a merged patch with FO4Edit.Run LOOT. Double-check load order in Wrye Bash to make sure all plugins are green. Open FO4Edit from NMM. In the plugin window that appears, right-click and choose "select all". Find your bashed patch and deselect it. Click OK. You'll have to wait a couple of minutes for FO4Edit to be ready. When you see "background loader: finished", right-click anywhere and select "other -> merged patch". (I'm typing from memory, am not logged into my gaming PC. I will double-check this when I get a chance.) FO4Edit will pop up a warning saying this is not supported. This is okay. Name your merged patch whatever you want. If you need to rebuild it later, you will need to delete it with Wrye Bash, then make sure you use the exact same name again, otherwise the game will complain (trivially, to be sure) about a missing plugin. FO4Edit will create a merged patch, which you will see at the bottom of your plugin list. Exit FO4Edit. Click OK to save. Go back to Wrye Bash and rebuild your bashed patch. Make sure your merged patch is above the bashed patch. When that's done, look at your plugin list in NMM and make sure your merged patch and bashed patch are last, in that order.Every time your load order changes, you should repeat the above steps. Make sure you run LOOT at the beginning of this process, and only at the beginning. Let me know if this helps. I use this procedure for both Skyrim and FO4. Normally, if two plugins affect the same item - for example, a plasma pistol - whatever is loaded last is what happens to that item. If you have one plugin that modifies the damage of a plasma pistol and another that modifies its rate of fire, you will normally get whichever one is loaded last. However, these are two different aspects of the same item, so the merged patch takes these aspects and allows them both to happen, since they do not conflict. Btw, do not disable any plugins. You're making a merged patch, not a merged plugin, which is a different thing. If you are still missing items, we'll have to delve into which mods/plugins we're talking about. HmCabrera
So what happens if I remove mods and add new ones at the same time? Do i keep the old merge patch or delete it?
audiodef
You need to delete the merged patch and create it again. Unlike the bashed patch, the merged patch cannot be rebuilt. You'll just get a "file exists" error. So, delete it, then re-make it, using the same file name you used previously. You should rebuild both patches every time you change your load order, delete a mod, or add a mod, or any combination of that. The only time you don't need to bother with rebuilding your patches is when a mod does not even add a plugin, such as texture replacers.
HmCabrera
For right now, NPC's are missing clothes. Armor pieces are seen on raiders that I have first encountered. Preston has no clothes on. The only clothing mod that I have so far, that I know of, is the Eli Armour compendium
audiodef
Hm, that doesn't sound like something that should happen with or without a merged patch - but it's a good idea to have one for the reason I described earlier. So go ahead and make one, and if this is still happening, we'll see if we can identify the problem. :-)
HmCabrera
so i have the merged patch and bash patch as you said Merged patchBash patch The clothes in question is actually the vanilla clothing. Clothing from some mods have been verified, NCR and black widow work fine. So i'm not sure what the issue is. I'll check more into while i wait for a reply Tried to upload images of my issue but no luck so links for the images are listed below https://ibb.co/nhCpadhttps://ibb.co/np8Uad Edited May 13, 2018 by HmCabrera
audiodef
I'm wondering if you need to verify the game files from Steam.
