Pyrophoric
Sorry if this has been asked and answered but ... I just installed and started playing Skyrim. Off the bat, I am going in with mods loaded. My question, do mods such as Skyrim HD 2K play well with the standard DLC HD and or other workshop enhancements? Basically, I have subscribed to most of the Graphics +++ collection in the workshop, downloaded the HD texture DLC, installed Skyrim HD 2K plus couple of character model enhancements. I have a higher end system (2x580's in SLI with latest drivers) and was trying to tweak to get the best detail with maintaining 60fps. I have never really messed with FXAA injectors but was thinking about it, it seems there a few for Skyrim. I was also hearing about some other EBS (sp?) mod. Are there any other graphical mods that would be recommended? Thanks for any help!!!
xlcr
i guess you could start your search for visual/graphic mods here (pre-sorted by endorsements in descending order):http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/cat.php?id=62&orderby=endorsements&order=DESC&tags= Suggest you make sure to leave yourself a way to rollback/uninstall any changes these mods might make to skyrim.Keep it simple and only install one at a time then tweak/stress test.Install/config/options can be complicated; but, with a strong gaming rig like yours, tweaking things should interesting, have fun!Be aware given instabilities introduced by new versions of patches/drivers/mod updates things can get harry very quickly so wear your troubleshooting hat lol. HD 2K/4K/DLC enhancements play OK together, I usually stay away from being dependent on BSA archives and manually unpack these so i know exactly what textures are changed from the standard game default stuff or mix/match various HD packs/partial componentsto achieve a preferred balance between quality and performance. fyi, I do not subscribe to any workshop mods nor do i use Nexus Mod Manager (NMM), everything manually installed/configured. Thanks for the reply! Yes, I have searched the list but wanted to ask what was worth looking at for my system. Since I don't know what rigs these people have who are endorsing, something that may work fine for my rig might be off further down a list or not highly endorsed. Looking back at the list, it was ENBSeries that I was hearing about. I didn't know how that was different for using an FXAA injector. With workshop mods, how do you know what files they are adding? That was my concern with HD 2K, whether textures were being overwritten by the workshop mods. I guess I don't understand how the workshop mods work. lol I've also followed the two guides from nVidia and found them helpful for tweaking. I am just stuck on mods mostly. Also, l guess I posted this in the wrong section. Sorry Edit: Gotcha, saw that you don't use workshop mods or the mod manager. I guess I should do the same as most of the workshop mods are also available here. Edited May 3, 2012 by Pyrophoric
