Giving a Companion generic dialogue

It would help, if you specify which generic dialogue you exactly mean, because companions work usually with a ton of those dialogues and all from different quests. Did you just mean the standard idles (or something different?)? Maybe it's the language barrier, but I stand on the hose :|.

Piper and Nick have quest dialogues in really dozends and dozends of quests. The most important one is the affinity quest (compiper as example).

 

The affinity quest handles the affinity dialogues from a companion, but also the comments to many situations (like dark/bright areas, favor sentences, detection sentences, greetings and the idles). Then there are the ao_comment quests that contain (mostly) 1 time sentences for specific locations like x86 "famous" comment to that "mirelurk den" :wink:.

 

And that is not the end... You see the word "just" fits here maybe not really... :smile:^^.

 

But take a look in those quests and I think you will get your first answers to some questions. I hit now my bed, so I wish you luck and don't let yourself overwhelm by the affinity (it's a really big one) quest. Let yourself time by studying the quests.
