Grecia300
As the title says, FO4 refuses to detect my mod setup. I am using Mod Organizer 2.0.7 for Fallout 4 and if its relevant, I had updated my Windows 10 version to be up-to-date on the 13th (May 13th, 2018). I have already attempted the following : -- Updating/Repairing the VC Redist ++ -- Deleting the DLCList.txt in AppData/Local/Fallout4 -- Validating the game files in Steam If anyone knows how to fix this, please give this deeply confused old war-horse a hand. If there is any questions or additional info you need, I'm more than willing to help.

Grecia300
"FO4 refuses to detect my mod setup." It's right in the title as well. When I try to load a save, I get a message about all my mods missing. Edited May 18, 2018 by Grecia300
WastelandAssassin
well , that is something else entirelyand no , the title doesn't really explain the issue (it could be an issue with MO2 , with the game itself , plenty of options , and the title is too general)but let us try to fix your actual issue do you run the game through MO2?if you navigate to the folder where your mods are installed , are the files there?since the game tells you that plugins are missing , I assume you already have an existing save file with these mods installed and workingso what has changed since the last time you successfully loaded this save file? have you done something with MO2 , or the game itself? Grecia300
I have tried to run FO4 from both Steam and MO2 with no luckThe files are all thereThe only thing thats changed that I can think of is several Windows 10 updates. Last time I played was.... in March, I think.
WastelandAssassin
just to be sure about the exact error you getwhen you try to load a save file , do you get an error of missing plugins , with a list of specific plugins , or all of them?or do you not get an error message , but when loading a save you realize that your mods aren't actually running?or is the error a different one?I suspect that different errors could be caused by different things , so I hope that understanding the error will help us fix it
Grecia300
I get a message stating that the save I'm trying to load "depends" on files that are no longer present. The problem is that MO2 has all of my mods enabled and the esps/esms are all enabled as well, so there is no obvious reason why this is happening. Thats it. There IS no error. Its just Fallout 4 thinking that there are no mods enabled, when there is. Unless that counts as an error.... :/ Now, I tried to copy a couple of mods into the Data folder then see if it works. And guess what? The mods only work if the mods are placed in the Data folder. Something wrong with MO2 maybe? WastelandAssassin
maybe the windows update has caused an issue with permissions in your MO2 folder? or maybe the files in your AppData?try checking your Plugins.txt , to make sure this is showing all plugins loading properlyI've never really heard of such an error , so I'm really grasping on straws here...... Grecia300
The windows update caused a tremendous amount of damage. But back on topic, did you mean the plugins.txt in the Documents folder or the MO2 folder? Because the one in MO2's folder is working perfectly. All mods that I enabled are listed. If the Windows 10 update caused this, what do I do? How do I fix this? (For the record, the update also broke my Skyrim. I have a thread about it here : https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6653736-skyrims-renderer-fails-on-startup/ ) Edited May 19, 2018 by Grecia300
WastelandAssassin
well , I don't really know what exactly is broken , so I don't know how to fix itI am referring to the plugins.txt that is loaded into the gameI just don't remember if it's the one inside MO2's folder , or inside your AppDatabut I really have absolutely no idea what your problem could be......since you can load mods properly from your Data folder , it seems like your issue is with how MO2 loads the mods into your game.......I really don't know if a windows update could have caused something like this , but maybe it could havesee if MO2 still has the same permissions it had , see if it's folders aren't set as read only , make sure to load it as Adminmaybe check MO2's mod page , see if someone else has reported a similar issue? maybe someone there would know what your problem could be......because I really have no idea , and I'm just guessing here
