Grecia300
I have already checked the MO2 mod page. Nothing.I always run any Mod Organizer instance as Admin (either an MO2 instance or original MO). However the folders ARE set to read only and I cant change it. Idea's? WastelandAssassin
you can give yourself full permissions on the folders , and deactivate the read only on themif you can't find a proper tutorial on this , I can try to give you instructions on how to do this (though a tutorial will probably be easier to follow , so try and find one)again , I really don't know if this could cause the issue , but it's worth a try
Grecia300
I'm unable to unset the read-only option and giving myself permissions seems pointless. As soon as I close the properties window it reverts all changes. Haven't I already said that?
WastelandAssassin
this is from an answer on how to remove read only from a folder  The problem isn't that the folder is Read Only. Rather, because your folder was created on a different installation of Windows you no longer have NTFS security permissions to access (read) the folder.Correct this by following these steps to take ownership and then grant yourself full access to the folder.Right-click the folder > Properties Security tab > Advanced Click Change to the right of Owner Enter Users into box and click OK Enable the checkbox Replace owner on subcontainers and objects then click Apply If prompted that You do not have permissions to read... click Yes Completely close out of the Advanced Security Settings dialog Right-click the folder > Properties Security tab > Edit... Add... Enter Users into box and click OK Enable the Full Control checkbox then click OK this might fix your entire issue , if your problem is actually not having permissions to access these folders after the update
Grecia300
Thanks. I'll try this out and tell you how it worked.
Grecia300
OK, I tried what you suggested, but still no luck. Any other ideas?
WastelandAssassin
can you try reinstalling a mod in MO2 , and seeing if now the game recognizes that mod?I wouldn't want to suggest that you reinstall all of your mods , but if that's what it takes to fix the issue , I guess you'll have to do thisI also don't want to suggest reinstalling MO2 , as I don't know if it could cause other issues
Grecia300
When I tried to get into the MO UI, it failed. Gave me an error saying "Failed to create Default". I checked the profile, but everything is fine. I think. What usually causes this? As soon as we fix MO, I can try your suggestion above.
Grecia300
Thankfully, I'd remembered I created a backup of the Fallout folder (the game, the mods, the whole caboodle) and I restored it. I will begin re-installing some mods momentarily, as per your suggestion.
Grecia300
OK, I tried to get in-game, but it just crashes on startup. No warnings or error's. It just crashes. Doesn't matter how I start the game either.
