nickisthe1
How do I add a texture in NifSkope? I know it has something to do with NiTextureProperty and NiSourceTexture, but neither exists in my mesh and I don't know how I'm supposed to add them, whenever I try it places it in the same place as NiNode, and I believe it is supposed to be under NiTriShape, but I don't know how to get it there. I don't really know what I'm doing as my only prior experience with NifSkope involved changing a texture path, and both NiTextureProperty and NiSourceTexture already existed in both of those. Please help! Edited May 20, 2018 by nickisthe1
TheWormpie
Open your own nif file in one instance of NifSkope, and open a similar vanilla object in another instance of NifSkope. Then copy the BSLightingShaderProperty from the vanilla file to your own (make sure to have your own object's NiTriShape selected while CTRL+V'ing the branch). From there you should be able to edit any and all texture settings, incl. the texture paths themselves (in NiSourceTexture as you mentioned). See this page to understand which kind of textures go to which path lines :)
