Tchos
So, I came across S'jirra at the Faregyl Inn, and she says her jumbo potatoes were stolen, which she needs to make her Famous Potato Bread. She says someone ran off with them because she had left them outside to get some sun. I would advise people not to eat bread made from these potatoes, because leaving potatoes out in the sun causes them to turn green and build up higher concentrations of glycoalkaloids, which are toxic compounds. I can't tell if this was supposed to be a joke on her character, or if the writers really thought leaving potatoes out in the sun was a good idea. Tchos
No, you can't eat the potatoes, since they're quest items (I tried to drop one just to see how "jumbo" it was). You can eat the bread she makes out of them, though. Or you can use it in alchemy. It has 2 positive effects and 2 negative effects, so you could use it to mix up a poison if you want, but those loaves cost 25g each, so I'm not sure you'd want to. You're right though, about the cooking destroying some of the glycoalkaloids. At least it does with non-green potatoes.
Lainge
Umm, a quest? You can't miss it if you stop by the Faregyl Inn, as I already mentioned. Perhaps a visual aid might help ease the confusion. http://lh6.ggpht.com/tchosy/SHrzJjEV1xI/AAAAAAAAATQ/ngE4B0Vvias/s1024/Oblivion%202008-07-13%2021-08-09-54.jpgNo I know about the quest, I've done it before. But why the post?
