Wolfskin75
I downloaded the Unique suite for my Fallout 4 player, companions and npc's. I have never used the mod, but I am assuming that I would go and custom build a player, choosing the body type mesh. in my case Jane bod, and textures. ( that is my next question. I have to use a texture specifically for Jane bod's correct?) and then move that data to a folder correct? Do I repeat the process will my companions and then... the npc's... and what body type do I end installing ? I am looking for youtuborials but I am not finding any. Anyone who can explain it to me it would be helpful. or link a tube torial.
Algabar
Basically it's just the way you described. "Unique player" and "Unique Companions" add folders for custom body meshes for the player and the companions, giving each of them a textures and meshes folder of their own. And yes, if you want unique bodies and textures, you will have to copy meshes and textures into each of the folders. Besides that, there are still the meshes and textures every other NPC will use (practically aorund 98% of the Commomnwealth's human population). So, if you want to change them, you woudl have to build meshes in Bodyslide, too and use a texture replacer of your choice. Be warned: With "unique player" and "unique companions" (and every other mod out there that does roughly the same thing), you can only change body meshes and BODY textures. The head textrues are still used by the player, the companions and almost every human NPC in common. Practically this means, if you use something very different from the rest e.g. for your player character, you will get body/neck discoloration or seams. There have been attempts to include custom face textures, but that's a really finicky thing.... It's possible, but it requires quite some work. I gave up on it - simply not worth it IMHO. If you want to try it, "Skin overrides" in Looksmenu would IMHO be your best bet. But still that's not something you accomplish within some minutes... Wolfskin75
It sounds like a lot of work. not that I am afraid of work but.. it seems like I would want to be able to post a downloadable stand alone follower at the end of this than just have a in game character. :) thanks again for the response.
