Mankar Cameron's Paradise

I find that every boss-character in Oblivion has got stuck somewhere on the levelling course... Even though they have player level offset, they are generated still too weak. Maybe under lvl25 they mean some challange (I don't know), but, having a tendency to do much freelance work before doing later parts of questlines, I had a lvl35+ (can't recall exactly) char when I faced Camoran and overthrowing him required no special effort.

Yep, he's even less of a challenge than Captain Tiki Head (his unofficial name) from Morrowind. I just walked in, let him get half-way through his lengthy speech, then put an arrow in his head. Not much of a challenge. Atleast with Mr. Mummy Man (other unofficial name) you had to actually pay attention to what was happening. As far as encounters go, he was one step below the end of Bloodmoon on the difficulty scale. And I cheated the hell out of the game by that point.

Doesn't make much sense. they spend so much time getting a combat AI to work fairly well, but use a magic based boss who does little more than run around tossing spells at you.

Anyway, yeah, Paradise does look kinda cool, it also has no real night time, Too bad it doesn't really make much sense, visually speaking.

If it wasn't for the Not-quite-dead-but-will-be-soon Cultists and the large and/or flaming Daedra, it would be a peaceful place.

If I had my own Paradise Realm, I'd populate it with Deer, Foxes, Rabbits, Wolves and Spriggans. Gotta keep some sort of environmental balance.

Paradise might look nice, but that isn't the point at all. You should be playing through to win the game for the good guys.

I disagree, playing for the good guys can get very boring, doing the same thing every day, saving the universe, planet, world, whatever... It's all just the same, many games have the same repetitive process of saving someone/thing. I personally like to step away from the originality and do something new. I like the "Servant Of The Dawn" and "Cannibalism" mods a lot, they actually let you work on your evil character, you can become a necromancer and the master of the Mythic Dawn, this is very different and much more exciting. I would personally like a game that lets you choose your own path. And not make it harder for an evil character to survive then the good character. If i were a game designer, i would step away from originality and make something new and exciting. Make a mission to destroy the world, rather than save it...

I just went and did that quest. Too bad the crab is weak... Stronger than most mubcrabs but still really bad. The items were pretty good though.

Mankar Cameron should be alot stronger though, it's kind of lame how weak he is.

Lol, yeah that crab is weak, but watch out for the Ancient Crab in the mod "Lost Spires."

When I first stepped into Cameron's Paradise, I got the sense of irony. It's similar to when, for example, in a movie, a character dies on a sunny day among chirping birds (recall a scene in '1984', or scene in 'The Prestige'), or when long departed lovers kiss in the rain of a thunderstorm (similar to scene in 'Little Women'). In CP, it was along the same line, in my opinion. As hellish as it was, and as evil, it was still quite beautiful. Having the daedra chase you through a field of flowers made the scene seem surreal, almost nightmarish, just the way CP was fundamentally all about. If that wasn't evident at first glance, talking to the characters would give you that idea, considering how they all wish they were gone.

Hmmm... Maybe because those High Elf names are so difficult to spell correctly?

By the way, I've seen it once written correctly, somewhere here; I don't recall where, though.

Anyway, here's it spelled correctly for you, so that you don't get the false impression that no one can write it correctly: Mankar Camoran.
