majistik
The file is read only or skyrim\steam is open?
digitalmax
I am having the same issue. I ignore the warning and it deletes the .esp. When i put it back the changes are there but nothing appears ingame. Also I found that even without the warning when I save the file gets deleted but it can still be opened by the CK but without any changes. In data files it doesn't show up either. I think it might be because I am trying to fix someone's mod to better suit my taste. EDIT: Figured it out. Jenova23
how did you solve it?
zalitrix
I figured it out! Look, it's pretty easy. Right click in the folder, then properties, then security, and change the "read and execution" with the total control one. It worked for me! brokenpasgetyz
I had the same problem but found the solution! at least for me... and hopefully you! try running creation kit in administrative mode. when you create the .esp file you will no longer see blank pages as the icons for the plugins. Hope this helps!
Secrecy11
when I checked my task manager, I found that Skyrim had opened parts of its programming, by closing those i was able to save
sleekblind
The file is read only or skyrim\steam is open? Call me a necro if you like, I still run into this problem occasionally. Over the years, I tend to forget that this is an issue. Just having the stupid folder open is enough to screw the CK up... what gives? Anyway, glad to find the answer to my problem... again... Adamin
I fixed my issue by closing SSEEdit before I saved my plugin.
