Alchemy help

I spent a good amount of time searching google, these forums, and youtube for a simple and efficient tutorial on how to level up alchemy. What did I find? Basically nothing. All I got out of my timely search is the information that the more expensive the potion you create the quicker you level up. A very popular alchemy guide on youtube said that the best potion to create was a giant's toe + wheat, however that would take forever to find and kill all of the giants, even with all of the mammoth camps discovered. For basically every other skill in Skyrim besides alchemy there is a very quick and easy way to level up the skill that isn't that time consuming. Examples: blocking a pack of wolve's attacks to level up your block, creating iron daggers to level up smithing, enchanting iron daggers from smithing to get enchanting up, so on and so forth. Yet, for alchemy it seems there is no real way to get it up legitimately that wouldn't be too time consuming. This is my x play through (have even lost count) and am not willing to spend hours going to camps to get some damn giant toes and looting farms for their wheat. There HAS to be a quick and easy way to get it up. Please let me know!
