Vashra1
Bear with me, I *just* learned that one needs to do more to resolve mod conflicts than simply cleaning ITMs and undelete/disable records (excepting the mods where you shouldn't do that) - and I'm trying to learn how to make patches in WryeBash and/or SSEEdit. I've had successes on occasion, but I can't seem to resolve this one, and I'm not sure why or what to do next.I was told Wrye Bash is primarily for leveled list patches, and I haven't needed to make any of those yet, so I was trying to do another simple drag 'n drop patch in SSEEdit...but with these two, it won't let me, and I don't know why.The two mods are the Unofficial Patch and Droppable Barenziah stones. The latter is missing a couple of minor corrections made to the quest by the former. With every other mod pair where I've had such conflict, I've just copied for overwrite to a new esp from one mod, then dragged and dropped the bits missing from the other mod into that new esp, effectively creating a third mod with the desired elements of both. (If there's a better way, do enlighten me!)But this time, I click on the box to make the edit, and rather than getting the usual warnings about "are you really very sure" it does...nothing. Mousing over the field and pressing F2 doesn't work either. It doesn't seem to matter if I pick the copy from the Unofficial Patch or from the Droppable stones mod -- either way I can't add. I *can* edit *other* fields, so I know the editing feature isn't entirely broken or something. Is it because scripts are involved? Is this something that could only be done in CK?Yes...I absolutely could just contact the mod author and ask them to put in the minor bug fixes found in the Unofficial Patch...but I'm trying to learn how to patch up mod conflicts so I don't *need* to pester authors. Deleted3897072User
You should be able to drag 'n drop the whole property if you mouse down on the empty box in the 'Property' line, the one above 'DialogueRiftenMaul'. Alternatively, if you select the record in USSEP rather than in skyrim.esm and 'Copy as Override' on that, you will get the right version directly in your patch. Vashra1
Awesome, dragging from that box worked!I feel like a dork for not trying that initially...but a relieved dork who knows more and is happy! Now to tackle the mod that attempts to move three of the stones to new locations...by (shudder) deleting the original references...and adding 3 new stones that don't appear to be actually tied to the quest or to update the quest in any way. Um....Pretty sure that one falls under "fix" ...or even rewrite entirely...and not "patch," which probably means I can't do it...yet.But the crashes and bugs while messing with it should be hilarious :D
