While one could speculate that Malacath, having apparently claimed it as his artifact, deliberately altered its look - or maybe even the Rourken Clan of Dwemer had a distinctly different aesthetic from the Dwemer of Morrowind and Skyrim (doubtful) - I'd honestly prefer at least a retexture of the hammer to make it mostly bronze, and the flickering red light to bright blue.Bonus points for making a standalone version without an enchantment.
