Dalaran1991 Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Hello. I just started a second character, a gal to replay skyrim. From there everything went haywire. NPC dialogue would sometimes be glitched, lydia not appear after I am made Thane, and at High Hrothar the Greybeards would not teach me the shout so I can't progress. I installed a couples of new mods after I created the 2nd character, but I don't think it's the problem, since I reloaded the old saves with my 1st character and everything was fine. kevkiev Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Did you try verifying game cache in Steam? Oddly enough, in my current (2nd) playthrough, I'm finding that quite often the game is missing 3 files. Two of 'em I expect, because they're the esp's for the high-rez DLC (which I immediately delete b/c I have the high-rez fix installed). I rarely got a third file missing on my first playthrough, but I do now for some reason so I try to verify cache quite often. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kevkiev Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 I know you're kidding because the game goes through steam whether you bought the DVD or directly from the steam store. To verify cache, right click on skyrim in your steam library, go to properties and hit "verify integrity of game cache."
