Mod Organizer 2 - Question

I just did a clean Install of SkyrimSE, deleting all files and reinstalling them. Then I downloaded MO2 (for the first time, I used NMM before) and set up the paths. Next, I noticed these warnings in MO2 of previously installed mods.

How is this possible if I deleted everything? See screenshot down below for reference.

I'm glad you mentioned the plugin.txt file. There is no AppData folder in my [username] folder on my C drive (the drive on which my OS is installed). Skyrim and MO2 Mods however, I have installed on a separate SSD (the E drive). I can only reach the AppData folder by copying the file path in the navigation section C:\Users\Hielke\AppData. Do you have any idea why this is? It is not really a problem since I know how to reach it (and I have made a shortcut), it is just weird to me.

To answer your question: No, the errors did not show after launching MO2 again. I suppose this is good news.

And thank you for your quick and informative responses!

I don't think these folders are meant to show up (users aren't really supposed to access these , so I guess they are set as hidden)

I can't say for sure , but I've never seen these folders unhidden on any installation of Windows I had , so I'm pretty sure it's intentional

but it's probably something you can verify on a simple google search (I never really looked)

anyhow , now that you have a new plugins.txt (that should now only have the game and DLCs , as the basic load order in MO2 without mods)

which means you can start modding the game finally :)

Exciting! I am already loving MO2. I was getting so sick of NMM as of late. Lastly, I'm currently doing a little self-study to get to know the tool as best as I can. I am currently watching Gamer Poets and Gopher tutorials, is there anything else I should check out or know about?

I took a look at the plugin.txt and I noticed I have two!

One in the folder:

C:\Users\Hielke\AppData\Local\SkyrimSE

And another in folder:

C:\Users\Hielke\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition

Is this supposed to be this way? The second one with "Skyrim Special Edition" contains the mods I was talking about (listed below again). The first one with "SkyrimSE" contains an empty plugin.txt.

well , Gamer Poets and Gopher both make amazing tutorials , so they are a great way to start

other than that , I don't think you need much more information

unless you want to start with a mod list (in which case , there are several of these already made and posted here , on youtube or other sites) , you are probably fine to start

just make sure to understand the differences between NMM and MO , especially regarding installations of things outside the Data folder

in regards to your other post , I also have these two folders , and my plugins.txt inside SkyrimSE is also empty , while the one inside Skyrim Special Edition seems to have my last load order with NMM (when I played SE after it launched , and used NMM on it , for the last time I used NMM on a Bethesda game)

but MO2 uses it's own plugins.txt , so you are good to go (and you can leave these files there , they aren't large or anything so they don't matter)
