Low FPS during gameplay, high FPS in console

Hello everybody,

So I decided to start a new playthrough of Skyrim and therefore made a clean install of the game and all mods.
Unfortunately now I get some weird behavior regarding GPU usage:
In normal gameplay outdoors my GPU is between 40% and 60% load, resulting in absolutely poor performance (15 fps in Ivarstead, for example).
As soon as I toggle the console though, the load goes up to 99% and the game runs with 30-40 fps. This has not happened in my last playthrough, where I got 30-40 fps during gameplay at pretty much any location.

I know, my PC specs are mid-range at best, but I managed to get said performance with a heavily modded Skyrim, which is perfectly fine for me.

Specs:

FX-8350
GTX 960 OC with 4GB
8GB DDR3
Installation on SSD

Maybe one of you guys has some magic abilities that can solve my problem :D

I've already tried these fixes:
- disabling game VSync and enabling Nvidia Adaptive VSync, Triple Buffering and High Performance Mode

- installed SSE Engine Fixes

- setting priority to high in the task manager

- unparked cores

first , let me begin by saying that unfortunately , your load order doesn't really help

the thing is , there are plenty of inactive mods in the middle of your load order , so it's really difficult to find what you are actually running (especially since you are running so many plugins)

my suggestion is to move all inactive plugins to the bottom of your load order , and just remove them from the list when copying it here

as to your problem itself , what has changed between your last playthrough and your current one? you are saying that your last playthrough ran well , while your current has issues , so understanding the differences could help identify the issues

also , it would help to try and understand if the problem is due to graphical load (your game trying to load too many assets at the same time) , script related (if there are too many scripts running , which causes slowdowns) or something else

are the issues happening on a new game? or is this an existing character , and these issues began recently?

As for the inactive mods: those are the mods deactivated by Wrye Bash. If I can safely move all those to the bottom, I will.

The only thing I changed was to use less combat related mods (I had Wildcat + Deadly Combat + Mortal Enemies + Ultimate Combat + Immersive Movement altogether), which I narrowed down to just Ultimate Combat, Mortal Enemies and Immersive Movement
and I installed The Choice Is Yours.

That's it. I made that little amount of changes, because I experimented a lot with mods in my last playthrough, uninstalling, reinstalling, updating mods and so one, because I wanted to find my perfect mod list.
Now that I have found it, I wanted to start over with a clean install of all those mods.

Is there a way how I can find out, if too many scripts slow down the game?

this is extremely strange......

removing mods cause your issue? that is counter intuitive......

I doubt anything regarding The Choice Is Yours would cause the issue , and removing mods would usually help remove some stress from the system......

could it be that you haven't uninstalled these mods correctly?

That's what confuses me so much!

I uninstalled NMM, Skyrim SE, wiped the install folders & appdata folders and restarted my PC, starting completely from scratch.

good luck with that

I would highly recommend going for MO2 instead of NMM , as it's far easier to work with when installing and uninstalling mods (especially if you make errors , they are far easier to fix on MO)

I've tried using MO multiple times now but somehow there's always something not working properly, even if I follow the guides. Maybe I'm just to stupid for that tool.

Update:

I'm dumb as a pile of s*** and didn't install the .dlls for Engine Fixes.
God damn...
