My mods aren't working

I have downloaded mods such as a quickstart, a texture pack, etc, and none of them are working! I load up the game, and none of the mods I downloaded and enabled work! Help me out if you can.

have you installed the mods properly? do you have all the requirements?

are you loading the game through your mod manager? are you using SKSE , and if so do you run the game through it?

have you properly set up your game for modding?

have you watched or read any tutorials on how to set up your game for modding? if not , stop whatever you are doing and find one (I recommend either GamerPoets or Gopher on YouTube , or the STEP wiki) . make sure you are doing everything needed to set up your game properly , and afterwards we can go back to trying to help you , if needed (seriously , you need to try and help yourself first , and these tutorials are incredible)

it's not like I've never used NMM before. I have, and it has worked. But for some reason, now it isn't

I have watched tutorial after tutorial and read post after post and none of them help me at all

are you using a new installation of NMM , or an installation that has already worked for you in the past?

when you quit the game , do the plugins stay active in NMM , or are they deactivated? because some users have reported such issues , so I'm just making sure......

go to your game's folder after trying to install the mod

go into your Data folder , and check if you have a Data folder inside it

if you do , this means that the mod is just not packaged correctly

you can install it manually (by just dropping the contents of the mod's data folder inside your data folder) , or extract it and archive the contents of the data folder , and install that with NMM

Just tried the manual download. It still won't work. The game is unchanged
