Naked Minutemen SOS

Recommended Posts

I am very new to Fallout 4 and the only problem I have had is the stuttering in town which drives me batty having tried some fixes with no results. I recently upgraded my video card to a Geforce 780 thinking it might help. My general graphics improved a lot but the stuttering still continues. That issue has taken a back seat to this new one. I just finished a basic settlement at Sanctuary when 3 Minutemen recruits show up all in their underwear?! I have near the limit of mods mostly weapons and settlement tools. Loot and FO4 edit shows no errors so I tried loading a couple of Minutemen clothing mods

no luck. I have deactivated all mods, deleted game, and installed game afresh and it has made no difference. I just can't understand how this is even possible. I was just beginning this game but this puts the breaks on for me. Sending a distress flare up I hope someone who can help sees it.

If a NPC had already spawned before you removed a mod that affects that NPC's outfit, that NPC can lose their outfit after the uninstall.

You can fix this by bringing up console, clicking on the NPC (which should show their ref id), and entering recycleactor. However, if the NPC was a random encounter, they will disappear after this, which is no big deal since it was a random encounter.

Hi

In the vanilla game you first see minutemen at the castle.

With mods like "We Are The Minutemen" minutemen can get nude if you use a loose file clothing replacer mod.

Uninstalling the game through Steam will not get rid of the loose files unless you delete the Fallout 4 data folder before the reinstall.

When the game was new it had stutter issues through drivers. Now stutter issues are mainly caused by CPU/GPU bottlenecks. The vanilla textures use between 4 & 5.5gbs vram depending on the level your save is & what DLCs you have installed. With anything less than a i5 2500k & a GTX 970 there is a good chance you will get stutter. Even with a GTX 780 you will probably need to reduce the texture size & use mods like Insignificant Objects Remover.

No matter what hardware you have, you can easily overwhelm it by adding content to this game.
