No UI or Mouse at Main Menu

Recommended Posts

I'm at my wits end with this issue. My game was fine until earlier today, I deactivated all of my plugins in MO to edit a mod in the GECK because it instantly closes if I don't (I've tried the game without that mod so I know that's not the issue). When I reactivated them, I disabled every plugin that was included in a merged patch or that I didn't normally use. I got into the game and it started up normal in the splash screen except my pointer wasn't there and the blue loading wheel was there instead. The game then just stopped at the menu background with the ranger and the main menu didn't appear. I've tried disabling all of the plugins and using MO to start the game and it was fine so it must be a problem with one of my plugins. I've used LOOT to sort my load order again but no luck. I use Windows 10 with NVSE, the 4gb patcher and all that stuff. Here's my load order in case it can help.

Almost certainly you have disabled a plugin which is a required 'master' of another plugin still in your "load order". Please see the wiki "Missing Masters" article.

Also, see the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

I would recommend you not use GECK launched from within ANY mod manager. In the case of managers which operate from the concept of "an empty DATA folder" (such as MO and NMM), copy the plugin in question out of the manager folder structure to edit it, then copy the result back.

I figured out the problem. It was a missing master. I accidentally included the "FCO - Russell" plugin in my Bashed Patch even though I don't have the Russell mod. Thanks dubiousintent!

EDIT: So it wasn't the Russell plugin but it was actually an esp overwrite I accidentally created when I made the GECK edit and put it in the wrong place. It's fixed now.
