thanateros
I love Transmuting Altar, what a great concept for the player to actaully become a creature that can attack. It's not too overpowered and it makes the game really interesting. Shadow Altar was a bit more confusing but still the general concept was there and I have to say, as an avid and overly critical magic player, that you really created something unique. The casting cost I thought was a bit high, seeing as the player becomes really suseptible to mass destruction spells such as Wrath of God. Though I do have a few questions. 1) What happens if the artifact leaves play (such as disenchant)?2) You're life total becomes that which is imprinted on the creature right? If this is the case do you share a certain symbiotic relationship with the creature (such as Serra Avatar) or can you, for example, use the ability to get around certain target player only spells (such as Volcanic Axe, as they cast it you become a creature, since you, the player, are no longer a legal target the spell fizzles but rather a creature in the Creature-Player sense)? I like Polar Hydra as well; unlike most huge blue creatures there aren't any uncanny drawbacks. It seems like it would be extremely fitting in a Tolarian Academy deck with a mind over matters and a Tim to tap and untap over and over to make a colossal Hydra that can't be blocked by fewer than about 40 creatures. I dunno if I'd ever play with it though; The Altar, on the other hand, would certainly spark my interest into making an Angelic Chorus/ Altar combo
