[LE] Problem With Creation Kit Custom Spells

Just the other day I discovered the 'Curse of the Vampire II' mod, which has three very interesting spells in it: " Vampire Bat Form", "Vampire Mist Form", and "Devouring Swarm". In truth these three spells are all that interest me in this mod due to the fact that I already use 'Sacosanct' which I thoroughly enjoy.
I found out that 'Curse of the Vampire II' is not compatible with 'Sacrosanct' and 'DVA Dynamic Vampire Appearance', two mods I consider essential in my load order. I figured it would be simple to isolate the three spells I am interested in from COTV, preserving their "only usable by vampires" feature as well, and then delete the rest of the COTV mod using the Creation Kit.
Unfortunately it appears to not have worked out that way. After going through all of the other files/spells/etc of COTV and deleting them, I run Skyrim, open my spell menu to equip my spells and then my game freezes. I've tried tweaking several things and so far nothing has come of it.
I know that in COTV these three spells were connected to perks (which I had to delete due to Sacrosanct already having a perk system), this may have something to do with the game freezing.

If anyone knows what I should be doing differently here then please let me know, I'm very new to the Creation Kit, I've only used it in the past a couple of times.

 

EDIT: I've merged the thee spells I'm interested in into a custom plugin so that the rest of the mod is not there to cause problems, this fixes the problem of the game freezing whenever I open the magic menu, but when I manually add the three spells to my character through the console and open the magic menu, the game immediately crashes to desktop. Now I will need to figure out what about these spells is making them crash the game while they're in my spellbook.
