Setharael
I realise that this request might actually be deceptively larger or more complicated than it might seem, but I want to give a little bit of an intro as to why I'm asking for this mod. I was recently looking through custom player homes, something I have never done in all of the times that I've played Skyrim. I was happy enough with the normal player homes with Hearthfire. Homes were just a place to rest and store my stuff. Anyway, I'm modding Skyrim SE for the first time and following Nordic0cold's great modding guide, and am currently... you guessed it... at the player home section. The few that I've looked at are great. They have porches, and baths and cool stuff like that, but for the most part all it is is aesthetics. Like bathing in those natural baths near Windhelm. There's no real benefit to it, and I just wondered if maybe there could be, hence the question about morale. So what if your character was getting their rear end kicked all over northern Skyrim. It's bitter cold, they nearly got killed several times, their favourite housecarl died, and all they have to show for the trip is miserable memories. At this point, the Dragonborn couldn't bring themselves to lift a weapon to kill a mud crab, let alone stand toe to toe with a dragon. They need some "me" time. This is where we could have some fun in more than just an unofficial roleplay capacity or running off to kill the next enemy, fetch the next item, or find the next treasure. Spending time in Whiterun marketplace, hanging with the wife and children or lounging in the baths could have an effect. Spending some time relaxing could give the Dragonborn a morale boost. After two or three days of a bloody good time, the Dragonborn is ready to go medieval on the next vampire or dragon that dares terrorize the fine people of Skyrim. The idea I had - on a more... I guess technical side would be something like this. I don't know if it would be worth making more complicated or easier or whatever but: BrokenMiserableGrimTroubled - These four would provide penalties. Stats would be reduced, stamina would drain faster, movement would slow, mana would drain faster, damage suffered would be greater, and maybe at Miserable or Broken they no longer get well rested or rested when sleeping, they will deal less damage to enemies, things like that. Maybe they don't gain experience as quickly, or maybe even stop gaining altogether (if that could be implemented) Average/Mediocre - No bonus or penalties ContentHappyInspiredUnstoppable - These four would accumulate bonuses, they hit harder, can shrug off some amount of damage, maybe they move a little faster, they get rested/well rested bonuses when sleeping, maybe for needs mods, food and drink will satiate them better and maybe they'll gain a bit of a resist bonus in Frostfall. The morale wouldn't have to be too dynamic for how it could be lost.Losing all stamina - could give morale a knock - too many difficult fights where they had to give their all and then some could make them feel less accomplished or somethingLosing all mana - same thing, being forced to run on empty from casting so many spells would wear them downLoss of Health - Maybe for every so many points of health lost (whether or not they healed it) would wear them down. After all, you're going to get tired of being walloped by weapons all the time. Or maybe it could be for every time the player's health hits below a certain percentage of health that they lose morale.Losing a follower - this could be a massive blow to morale.Losing a wife - this should be a huge blow tooBeing arrested - significant blow maybe?Too many nights not sleeping in an owned bed or innToo many days adventuringToo long since the last questHaving to run from combat (could this be registered? Does the game know the difference between the different ways combat ends?)Suffering illness/diseaseToo long in the coldToo long in a dungeon/ruinLosing a brawl Ways Morale could be boosted Hanging in an owned home (maybe doing things can boost it further too, like lounging in a bath, or sitting in front of the fire)Hanging out in a tavernHanging with your wife or kidsHanging around in your guildLounging in the springs near WindhelmLounging in the Eldergleam Sanctuary and other nice landscapesFinding a large stash of coins or goodsMaking a large amount of money in one selling session Drinking some alcoholWinning a brawl I've not thought on this in depth or anything, most of this I put together on the fly when the idea popped into my head and I wanted to add it to this page to see if it was something that could be done or if it would just be far too complicated and generally not worth it?
