Personality: Amir is confident and has a strong sense of justice, he will not kill without reason.

Backround: Amir was born in the middle east, though he was born into a muslim family, he himself is atheist, though he does not challenge religious beliefs. His father struggled with money, and when Amir was only 11, a corrupt official, Sadam bin Jahad took Amir's sister away as 'payment for debts'. His father and mother were killed the same year, by four goverment troops follwing Sadam bin Jahad's orders. The soldiers chased and shot at Amir, who was hit in the leg, bleeding he turned to face a soldier who took aim, but was mown down by a technical, his uncle, who was one of the not so bad desert warlords, manning the turret. The other soldiers were quickly dispatched. Amir would stay with his uncle for several more years. While with his uncle, Amir learnt how to shoot,how to speak many languages, how to fight, how to lead armies... how to survive. His uncle lead his men around, raiding and pillaging, but never killing unnesercirally. His uncle died when Amir was 18, trying to stop another warlord from killing an entire village. Amir picked up the pieces, reforming his uncles warriors into the Global Liberation Army (GLA)

 

The GLA raided the villa of Sadam bin Jahad. They found that Sadam had been keeping Amirs sister and many other women prisoners as slaves, Amir was so disgusted by this, that when he caught Sadam, who had been attempting to escape in a car, he had his privates cut off, then put him on the wall, linded up with some of the soldiers who had been carrying out Sadams dirty work for years, and shot them.

 

In the current day, the GLA is still an organisation which hunts down tyrants, corrupt officials or leaders, or other such people in asia, africa and, rarely, Europe and north and south america, should these criminals attempt to hide there. After a bomb meant for Osama bin Laden accidently destroyed an american convoy, the americans believed the GLA were a terrorist group, and began war on them as well. The GLA has avioded contact with american and british forces, only killing them to defend themselves, whilst continuing their own vendetta on corruption.

 

Amir has brought three people with him on this plane:

Mara Aramov: Mara is a russian who joined the GLA after being captured and tortured.

 

Erich Rhoemer: Erich Rhoemer is a German man who defected to the GLA from the german army

 

Anton Haswari: Anton is a freedom fighter for the GLA, joining after his wife and child was killed by taliban

Name: James Rodrick

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Nationality: American; British and German ancestry and about one fourth black foot Native American

Appearance: James is fairly thin but with broad shoulders, despite his lean frame he is incredibly strong for his build. He has tidy dark brown hair that comes down to about the tops of his eyebrows. Despite his (relative) youth he has deep laugh and smile lines about his face. He is quite tan and his hands are covered with calluses. His piercing blue eyes look like the waters off the Bahamas or the sky on a clear summer's day.

Height and Weight: 5'10", 170 pounds.

Weapons: Titanium machete (see resources), titanium spring-assisted, straight-edge pocket knife with 2.5" blade (hidden and on person), folding pull saw (see resources)

Clothes: Synthetic cargo pants, very light weight with many pockets and zip off at the knee. A crisp, tucked in, synthetic shirt meant to wick away moisture, a scratched and worn digital wristwatch and a camouflage, wide brimmed hat with JR branded into the brim. Slightly worn hiking boots and synthetic socks.

Resources Brought: Digital watch (as in clothes), pocketknife (as in weapons), magnesium and flint fire-starter (on person), orienteering compass (on person), 2 one quart Nalgene bottles, a 2 quart water bladder (all water containers empty), 20 feet of parachute cording, a spare set of synthetic clothes, "poncho-tarp" shelter and rain-gear, 6 titanium tent/shelter stakes, water purification tablets, Aqua-Mira water purification chemicals, lightweight flashlight, about 6 days worth of dehydrated food, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, frame-less hiking backpack (contains everything but the compass, watch, pocketknife and fire-starter, also has the machete and pull saw in it). (Note: I intend on none of the food making it, the shelter being very questionable and most of the water purification supplies being lost, maybe enough for a gallon of water not much else)

Personality: James is carefree and confident, he loves being sarcastic and joking with people although it sometimes gets him into hot water.

Background: James was born into a fairly well off family, well enough off that when he first started backpacking he didn't need to really make a "legitimate living." He had first gotten interested in backpacking when going through the Boy Scouts of America, after he attained his Eagle Scout rank he decided to pursue his love of backpacking further. Thanks to his family's money he was able to go on spectacular trips around the world from hiking the Colorado trail to backpacking in the Himalayas. Soon this won him some attention of his own and James began writing backpacking books, everything from trail guides, to packing, to just travel journals. The royalties from these books and money from sponsors has made him enough money to comfortably continue his passion for the rest of his life even if they won't buy him a nice house, he has always preferred the outdoors anyway.

 

Because of Scouting and his career, James is extremely knowledgeable in the wild, he's had several close calls already and is a master woodsman. He is on the plane headed towards the tropics so that he can continue writing about trails and to explore this new sector of the world. He's never been on any of the pacific islands except for Hawaii when he was a young boy.

 

Flaws: James's confidence and abilities have made him quite independent, and though he will socialize a lot with others he does not handle working together very well, he tends to take charge in survival situations and is not likely to take many other people's opinions seriously. His laid-back manner can get on people's nerves, especially when he doesn't think before he speaks and can step on others' toes with his sarcasm and smart-alec comments.
