This sounds like a hardware problem - you cannot fix hardware problems with drivers.

1. Power down, remove the card, look at the fans and clean out any accumulation of dust

2. Replace card, power up make sure the fans are working.

3. Run a test program such as the FREE Furmark - available here: http://majorgeeks.com/FurMark_d4183.html

Be absolutely sure to actually read the documentation and instructions before running any diagnostic program or you will be wasting your time.

If your card passes the furmark testing, I would suspect a RAM chip problem use this diagnostic. http://majorgeeks.com/FurMark_d4183.html

The cards running the FurMark test now, its hitting 85-90c and getting 19-25FPS but its not crashing, been running for 25 minutes.

Why would the card run every other game fine at 40+ FPS but not Skyrim.

When Skyrim is running im getting 60FPS and the cards under clocking itself 400~ half the time.

PSU is a 730watt with 4x 12v rails@20A~

Because every game is NOT the same. Every game is different and will affect your system differently. Skyrim is a resource hog, just like any Gambryo engine game put out by BethSoft. If you have optimized your system for something like Crysis, then you will need to change some of the settings to play Skyrim. Don't look at just the video card when optimizing. Look at everything. - For example Skyrim is not optimized very well to be played on multiple processors. It often does better on a single. But nearly all newer processors are multiple. Set it for just one or two (test to see what works better for you)
