Simplified Companion Scripting With Gold

Awhile ago I made a quick little mod for a companion: Argos. I used the Oblivion Construction Tutorial on the respective wiki. It seems to be more centered on Npc's rather than creatures so it brings up the make a quest to check conditions. I've been experimenting with another Pet, Code Name Laddie.

 

Laddie uses the Gold condition, mainly if Gold == 1, Follow, 2 Wait, etc. I have to fix it as the Gold == 2 isn't working yet but the Gold == 1 and 0 (Not in the party) works fine.

 

A problem I noticed is that I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete after exiting Oblivion as it becomes non-responsive while closing. While it's working to simplify the script I don't think people would appreciate having to Ctrl-Alt-Delete out of Oblivion.

 

I don't know what's causing this....yet.

 

Anyway's what do you guys think? Does using Gold simplify things rather than having to build a quest for companions?
