I come back to my FO4 from a long break and now trying to figure it out if I should upgrade or not. I have 6 DLCs installed and over 100 mods actice and working so far. Should I risk them by udating and will they work after the update? Also getting this message, is it safe to enable:https://imgur.com/a/hOYzMFS ?

Thank you in your support guys in advance

if the game hasn't updated for you , and it works with all of the mods installed , I recommend you keep it that way and leave the updates alone

as far as I know , the updates are only CC content anyhow , so you aren't missing anything

if in the future you decide to start a new playthrough with new mods , you'll probably have to update your game , so that all of the mods you wish to use will work properly

but for now there doesn't seem to be any reason to update , as you already have everything working

as for that message , I honestly have no idea

I've uninstalled the game a long while ago , so I don't think I've ever seen such a message

my guess is it's related to CC content , and if so I don't think you need to activate it (unless you've purchased anything you wish to use)

but I'm not sure about that part

for what i can remember the message point to any of the official dlc's, with means you don't have lets say nuka world, and its telling you, you can buy/instal it

well , they claim they have all the 6 DLCs , so I don't think that's that

but you may be correct about that message . or maybe the user doesn't have the 6 DLCs , but a combination of DLCs and CC content

Hmm - looks like CC stuff to me. Reinstalled/Updated a while ago when I had to reinstall my Windows. I opened my data folder and found a truckload of files belonging to CC. Stuff I had no use for. Looking through the details I was able to get rid of it. Something about a prefix...........

I'm going to take a guess and say that message is related to the HD Texture Pack. That's the only thing that should be automatically downloaded to trigger an in-game message like that, since you don't get in-game messages when there is an actual game update available. If that's the case, use your own judgement on if you should install it. There are better looking and far better optimized textures available on the Nexus if you don't want the ones from Bethesda.

AFAIK it can't be CC content because a game version that old won't support it. Pretty sure 1.9.4 (something along those lines) was the last pre-CC version. The .exe and game files were all updated after that version to incorporate the new CC frameworks added, like adding all those nifty Pip-Boy skins at the armor workbench. All of the CC content WILL get downloaded and added if the game is updated to the current 1.10.89.ÃÂ

Edit: the CC content that still gets downloaded seems to be limited to the archives for the original batch or two of releases. They have since changed things so CC content doesn't download unless you buy it. But for whatever reason that initial batch still downloads.
