magatsu17
I got it for PS3 day one, and loved it and put a good 300+ hours. Then with in the last month I built myself a new desktop and bought it again. I must say its is much better on PC in just about every way. Mods really at a lot to the experience. It almost feels like I'm playing a new game. If you don't think your computer can run it well though i would say get the console version. My last computer could barely run Oblivion and it was much more fun playing it on console then PC. Stemin
The point is they play entirely differently, even when playing the exact same game. Some people prefer one kind of play, and others another kind of play. Most people assume (because that is what the advertising shows) that they are the same on console as on PC. Pick the one that suits your own style of play. Well, that's not really what I took out of the article, but fair enough. The article is showing that there are differences between PC & console play. The author is disappointed that instead of working to resolve the differences, MS elected to just drop the idea altogether. If they had been able to resolve those differences, then cooperative games would have been possible with one player on a PC cooperating with another one on a console. But due to timing differences (currently if this were tried) they would be constantly out of sync. And they obviously will be able to fix this down the line. Out of sync errors were common as hell back when online play was in its virgin state with games like Doom.
ThoseTolerableNoobs
I apologize for seeming to denigrate consoles. They are appropriate for some people just as PCs are for others. The users of each are looking for a different experience. I don't care for consoles for the very reasons other people do like them. They are locked in to what the maker allows - which can be good for some types of games. I do prefer PCs for the very reasons others don't care for them - they are open ended and you can do anything you want to with them. But doing what you want can be more work than some players want to deal with when all they want to do is play a game. As the Nexus is a PC mods site, I expect most of the members here will prefer the PC. Just as on an xbox site they will prefer the xbox over the PC. So asking whether he should get a Xbox or a PC here would be like asking whether he should get a Ford or Chevrolet on a Ford enthusiast site. Yeah, I imagine people on the modders sight would the Consoles...I should have thought about that before I opened my mouth lol  Just to clarify, I'd obviously missed off a word or two when I said 'Consoles are more enjoyable'. I edited the post, but I'd like to point out that I don't think that, just that they offer different things which I enjoy in different scenarios. I'd play Skyrim on PC, but I'd never play MW3 on PC if you get what I mean...
StayFrosty05
PC all the way.... ...I originally bought Skyrim for XBox, was always an XBox player, but found the game got rather boring too fast....So bought a copy for PC (I have to use an XBox controller though, just can not get the hang of keyboard and mouse) and now love the game, being able to mod it into something of much greater interest to myself with superior graphics...I did have to upgrade a small variety of things on my PC though....Graphics Card, etc... I stay on the XBox for the ME series though, as I prefer the XBox over all and ME doesn't need modding. totalwarman
Should you buy a better product for better price, for a better platform with better possibilities? Of course not.
shuriken88
When it comes to Bethesda Gamebryo RPG's, avoid the console versions, like your life depended on it. I love, and actually prefer consoles for gaming these days, but I will NEVER buy a Bethesda RPG for anything except PC, for multiple reasons which are probably obvious. Basically, the only games I play on PC are Bethesda RPG's. Other than that... PS3 ALL THE WAY!!! I dont care about Crysis graphics whores, I've been there, worn the T-shirt, and I can confirm for the nth time, graphics are only HALF the battle. All I really use my PC for these days is making music, and 3D modelling.
scot
I own both a pc and a ps3, and I found myself buying ps3 exclusives only, as for pc all the games I like. I feel like I spend more money on consoles games if I bought them all for console than for pc. Everyone says consoles are cheaper than a good gaming PC but what about the games? Here where I live console games go up to 80 euros, while the same games for pc with much better graphics are all 50 euros max, when console games lowers the price it becames 40 euros while pc ones are 20 euros. So in long term a PC it´s cheaper for me, so with 500 euros I can upgrade my computer to be good enough to play modern games with max settings rather than give 500 euros for a console inferior to my PC. Markmid
If you enjoy adding more enjoyment to the game, then the PC and the many mods that will slowly come out to tweak the game how you like it, you can come back years later even and have a completely different experience. If you are happy with what you get from the base game, your favorite platform.
Draconicone
It was probably mentioned above somewhere, but incase it wasn't here's my 2 cents. I bought Morrowind for Playstation back in the day. This was a huge mistake. The game was great, except that there was a very minor bug on an NPC that was tied into the main quest line and at least one mage guild questline. Somehow the NPC was not grounded to the floor... and each time the cell was loaded she levitated up further. Eventually she floated through the ceiling and into the nothingness beyond the cell and became inaccessible. Those questlines at this point became completely broken. On a PC, if that happens you just pull up the console commands, either toggle collisions and walk through the wall to reach her, you could summon her right to you, or use a command to move right to her. On Xbox or PS, you don't have that option, all you can do is hope that one of your earlier saves was before the bug became unplayable, sometimes having to go back 10-20 hours of gameplay and losing a ton of progress. My point is that Bethesda games are always a bit buggy, but that is because they are open sandbox games, and there are just so many variables to every playthrough its next to impossible to predict what every player will do. Choosing PC lets you work-around these issues rather than just having to roll back to a prior save and pray that the problem wont recur again.
