Running Animation Fix

I.E. When you press forward and left at the same time you move in an angled direction but the animation is still running forward. They updated these in Skyrim and Fallout 4. I would love to see an animation fix for this in FONV.

I'm no expert in this area, but I don't think we can do it the standard/vanilla way. You have a limited number of animation slots/groups, the four relative directions with slow and fast (ie left, left fast etc). Depending upon which type of weapon your holding the appropriate kf is used for that slot/group (ie 2hand fast backward for a rifle). So we don't really have anywhere to put diagonal movment in the geck and I suspect that means unsupported in the game engine.

 

So your basically going to have to think outside the box.

 

You would need two components; 1. the animations and 2. a way to force the animations.

There would be a lot of required animations (right, right fast, right pistol, right two handed rifle, right fast pistol etc).

As to forcing teh animations via script, this technique is used a lot, but it's pretty kludgy for movement. I think it may leave a lot to be desired. The mount script of illyisms Rideable Creatures that I ported shows some of the pitfalls of this method. It's clunky. But that's (forcing a custom looping animation via hotkey detection) the only way I would know how to do it. I'd love to hear if someone has a better idea, but I think if there was a superior solution we'd already have the fix.
