HadToRegister
It's the reason why so many think Morrowinds combat is terrible or even broken, a simple "Missed" message on screen would have solved the problem. I just fired up Morrowind and gave my character a dagger because she only has 30 skill in it, so I know I'd miss. Whenever I missed, I actually missed, my dagger didn't go through the creature, I actually missedI play in first person.I wasn't seeing a dagger go through anything, the dagger swing and jab came up short, but they did not pass through the creature. JimboUK
You can see it clearly at the start of this, his fatigue is causing him to miss. Morrowind's combat is based on dice rolls, it doesn't matter how well you aim you'll miss if the roll goes against you, however there is nothing to indicate that you've missed so people think the collision detection is bad. HadToRegister
I see what you're saying now.Especially for people who have played Skyrim FIRST, they'd probably think the mobs don't have any hit-boxes and just quit the gameFrom what I gather, and what people talked about on the forums Waaaaay back in 2003, was that if you have a 12 in the skill then you have a 12% chance to hit.I never use trainers, I just beat the hell out of mudcrabs and rats, or I go into that first cave by Seyda Neen called Lollapalooza or something like that and fight right by the door and run out and rest, and go back in and repeatRight now one of my characters has 100+ (I use mods) in Hand-to-Hand and is punching Dremora to death, of course all her other skill totally suck though

I'm very curious to learn how you can have mistaken 2 names that sound so similar. Anyway back to the topic's core Morrowind is largely more glitched than Oblivion and too many of Morrowind's elements depend on the little-happiness-of-luck which is very frustrating. If you play on PC you can fix most of it but if you're on console I strongly suggest oblivion which is largely more reliable and funnier on its vanilla version. The console version of Morrowind is more broken than the PC version, I wouldn't recommend that to my worst enemy.
Deadsmoke96
If you want to play a game without modern fast travel and don't mind reading quests and their objectives to keep track , then Morrowind is good for you. If you'd rather quests auto update and mark where they are, Oblivion. But i'd say get both. Oblivion has a great story and atmosphere, and Morrowind i heard is really good also. There's a mod called Morrblivion that adds Morrowind and a few quests to Oblivion also if you would rather explore Morrowind in Oblivions engine.
