Raiderous
So I made a set of armor that I would really like to get in game (and hopfully start on a mod I have planned) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to rig armor. ive treid the tutorials but I just never end up having the right settings or somethingso I came here hoping maybe someone could rig it for me. ill give credits to whoever rigs itIll probably pm whoever helps me the files for the armor so they can rig it
EPDGaffney
I'll teach you how to do it yourself if you want. I think the easiest thing to do is probably to open up a vanilla armour so that you understand how it works. But it's all vertex groups. As long as those match perfectly, there shouldn't be any problem. Which tutorials have you followed? This is my favourite:http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Rigging_skinning_and_dismemberment What exactly doesn't work for you?
Raiderous
that guide made a lot more sense then the other ones I was looking at. but now when I go to export it says"multiple bump/normal textures in mesh 'arms:0' , material 'noname.00'. make sure there is only one texture with map to.nor"I don't know what I messed up. but I feel like I know what could have caused (for whatever reason blender defaults to a really old test 44magnum I used once and now it appears as soon as I open it again and I think the lingering textures/files are messing something up)
EPDGaffney
You get that message if an object has more than one texture. This engine doesn't allow that. Multiple objects can be exported as a single file however, which will give you the same effect. A major problem is that if you're using the correct version of Blender (2.49b, though some others from about that time will work; just not the newer ones), you'll see textures on your mesh that aren't necessarily the ones being exported. So, select whatever you want to have a particular texture, and make it a separate object from anything that has a different texture. The hotkey for this Separate command is simply P. Separate it by selection (assuming you've selected only polygons that you want all to have one texture). Then select your new object and go into Edit mode, select every single face, and assign it the correct texture:https://prnt.sc/jupix0 The textures you see are actually, at least in my experience, the ones you've set to preview via the UV editor, so you mayn't even see a change once this is done correctly, but it should export. EPDGaffney
Sorry, brain was malfunctioning at the time. What I said is all completely accurate, except it has nothing to do with that message, which I misread somehow. Your material probably has more than one normal map on it or is otherwise not set up correctly for NIF scripts. Here's the most commonly followed tutorial in this community on the subject (far as I know anyway):
