Yknuf
Hi, is there a way to temporarily disable a house mod (in my case Deus Mons) and enable it again, while keeping all the items in the house? The problem is that some mods cause CTDs when entering the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary or the Understone Keep in Markarth. Why these two areas are so mod-unfriendly is beyond my comprehension. Some of the mods I had to disable due to this problem are Blackreach Railroad, The Asteria, Adventurers and Travellers and Immersive Patrols. Unfortunately, only after I had spent over six hours decorating Deus Mons with all its showcases, mannequins, bookshelves, ingredient holders etc, I discovered that the same CTDs occur with this mod, i.e. when I want to enter the Brotherhood or the Understone Keep with Deus Mons installed, the game crashes. However, if I disable it in order to enter these places and enable it again, it resets, and all my items are gone. For now I have been postponing quests related to these two areas, but eventually I will have to access them again. I absolutely love Deus Mons and really don't want to miss out on it. I could of course take all my items (far over 10.000 weight), do the quests with the mod disabled, enable it again and put back the items. But I invested so much time and energy in the decoration of the castle (including uncountable instances of the time-consuming "drop item, save, reload, arrange item" method, so the items stay in place). I would hate to have to do it all again. Besides, the same problem would occur every time I have to enter either of mentioned areas for whatever reason. So, if there is any other way to solve the problem, please let me know! Thank you
Tidus44
Short answer - There is no way to temporarily disable a mod as you would like to do. This might ease the pain of redecorating though - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13586

Thanks a lot though for the link. I wasn't aware of this mod's existance, it will make the redecorating a lot easier. Weird that it has so few endorsements, I tried it out yesterday and after getting the hang of it it's really excellent.

Given the apparent popularity of being a Skyrim hoarder and house decorator, it is a bit baffling why there are so few downloads and endorsements for that mod.
