Sativarg
Probably Die Now. Life is too bloody boring. (No, i'm not some 'Wah wah, black my eyes and slit my wrists' emo guy', just bored easily. :P) And i am curious about what lays beyond the Great Divide. Like, what the Afterlife is like. Since i do not believe in Heaven, but in the Druidic Paradise, Tir-na nOg, I am excited to see what it would be like, if it is as beautiful as lore says. Now I am confused. If you go to Tír na nÓg, the Land of Eternal Youth or the Land of the Ever-Young, are you then not Immortal? If I die and still exist in any permanent form then am I not immortal? For lack of any better I chose the sixth option and stipulate that as I am now, I get to choose.
leetgamer
I choose to live as a normal person. Why die now? Why waste away the beautiful life God gave us? There is something religiously fishy about this thread. If you were to become immortal, then it would make you like some sort of a god. And that is not good. For there is one and only one who can be immortal and have god powers : God. If you were to have god powers, think about it. Life wouldn't be a suprise anymore as it's supposed to be. Having farsight, superstrenght, teleknesys powers etc. would be unfair. Plus, anybody who has those powers would use them either for good or for evil. Most would use it for evil, and that is not good. And we ask ourselves : 'If this guy uses his god powers for evil, what will happen?' And that's how we end up asking ourselves questions referring to this thread. Immortality is also bad from religious point of view. They will say that an immortal is a clone of God and God doesn't have any clones. He is our Father, the one who created us. He is the only one who may possess god powers, and immortality. End of story.
ninja_lord666
If you have god powers, religion no longer applies. If you have god powers and are still bound by silly human superstitions, you obviously can't handle having those powers. If you get god powers, who cares if you do something "evil," you're a god. You could destroy all of Earth if you wanted to. It'd have no negative repercussions, just create new life if you wanted.

You can't destroy Earth if you wanted to as god powers are also limited. You can't really do whatever you want. Humans tend to do stupid things if they have that sort of power, that's why God made us humans. God created us for a purpose. I will not continue as this thread will turn into a religious debate, which is not allowed. Keep in mind, if you are immortal, you will live forever. The purpose of life is to live, and eventually die. Besides, living an eternity must really be boring
Malchik
No religion or I will close the thread. And ninja stop fanning the flames with unnecessary allusions or you'll be the one penalised. There is however nothing wrong with pointing out that immortality could be boring. If there is an infinite number of things to do then it will take up an infinite amount of time and boredom would not set in. If there is any form of limitation on what can be done then boredom seems inevitable. Mind you, if you are postulating limitless power with the immortality a person could presumably eliminate the ability to feel bored. In which case boredom should not be an issue. ninja_lord666
You can't destroy Earth if you wanted to as god powers are also limited. ;D Thanks, I needed that! The definition of god powers is to be omnipotent. There is no limit to omnipotence. If one had god powers, one would be omnipotent. An omnipotent person could do anything, hence the omnipotence. Sativarg
LOL I have a feeling even "gods" have some one to answer to...I like the example of the Q of (Star Trek)or the Ascension of (Stargate).Omnipotence may not be all that it is cracked up to be and even a creator might have a bad day...I like Science fiction. It lets us play in a sandbox of probabilities without letting us destroy the Universe
freddycashmercury
Well, I suppose it depends on whether you would be like the Judeo-Christian or Muslim God, or a god such as Zeus, or Thor. They were gods, and yet were not all powerful. The Judeo-Christian type of God, however, would be all powerful being, and Ninja would be correct. Sativarg
The guys in Nothing were pretty powerful and they ended up settling so to speak. Omni potent, Hmmm Its a nice idea but truth is about... that that is. True power like the limited power of a ninja comes from wisdom... True and ultimate Grace, in my book, is the ability to do the greatest possible good by applying force so precisely that you achieve the greatest conservation of NRG. This is the perfection I would strive for if I had the blessed time. Amen and Amen... This should be the goal of humankind... Not the Moon or Mars or immortality. Just a little F'n wisdom; thank you very much.
