IsmaelMoncada
Hello everyone. Some time ago I installed Oblivion and decided to mod it a bit by adding the Oblivion Character Overhaul mod. I followed the instructions, and after some meddling I got it to work. For job and life reasons I stopped playing the game for a while, and left the folders and files as they were. Today I attempted to launch Oblivion via the obse_loader, as I usually did when I played more often. However, the game didn't launch. I guessed it was loading times but after an hour that seemed ridiculous. So I went into task manager, and Oblivion was there, as a running process. I got into the details of said process, and the task manager listed it as "suspended". I never had this issue before, and would very much like to solve it. The overhaul is a mod that I really enjoy and not being able to play with it kind of makes me not want to play at all. Additionaly, the game runs properly if I launch it via the default launcher (although some face textures on some NPCs will be grey and display the message "install blockhead") so if there is a way to launch obse_loader from that default launcher, I woul be most thankful. If there is not, could I remove all the overhaul related files to reinstall the mod and how? Thanks in advance.
IsmaelMoncada
So I seem to have fixed the issue. It was related to my antivirus software. Basically, my antivirus was detecting obse_loader as a menace and stopping its execution (and that's why the task was displayed as "suspended"). When I forced the task to stop, I noticed the loader dissappeared from the folder, by action of my antivirus (which, I have to say, never notified me of its shady actions and I was lucky to notice the issue. So, what I did was reinstall the mod and the files, and I replaced the obse related files on the Oblivion folder with new ones (the ones included in the download). I declared the whole Oblivion folder as an exception for the antivirus so it stopped deleting it, ran the loader again and I was able to play once again. I hope my fix helps other people who has the same issue.
