luda0984
Note: The Topic title is just a temporary placeholder name, feedback is welcomed on that Hey everyone, I've come up with an idea that I feel like will assist oneself in combating in Skyrim, but at a small cost so the experience of combat doesn't feel cheap...(If there's a mod/idea already requested/out, then please make a referral post so I can get this thread closed :P) You see, I find myself usually with a 1H weapon for one hand, and always some sort of spell for another hand. Sometimes, I use my spell hand with some sort of destruction power when I'm combating enemies. Other times, I'll use some restoration spell to quickly heal me while I'm dishing out damage at the same time. I always forget to use my potions whenever possible because I feel like having a sword in one hand+a spell in another hand is just the most convenient form of fighting for me, and I never feel like I need to access my inventory unless I'm at low health. But one thing I found lacking with spells (so far in my gametime) is the lack of a spell that can buff the 1H weapon that I have holding in my opposite hand. --------------------------------------------See, I want to kill my opponents as quick as I can when I'm trapped at close-range and can't use my bow to target anyone. So what better way than this is to instantly buff the damage of my 1H weapon by casting a spell with my opposite hand? There's a catch...1) You drain a lot of Magicka for that much power infused. 2) The great amount of buff infused by your magic spell causes your 1H to be more heavier than usual, so you'll have a penalty of movement reduction (literally your movement should be slow). When you think about it, this penalty is rather ironic considering the whole point of the spell is to help try to kill your opponents quicker than usual :PWith that mind, taking more effort to swing such an infused sword should decrease your stamina faster (or something of that sort) 3) With this amount of disadvantage in mind, the effects of the spell should either last for a considerable amount of time (say, enough time to do a raid at a cave/fort, idk), or until you sheathe your sword when a battle is over [still debating which one would be best option here] Now, I don't want it to just be one spell to have as a mod and just have it for all levels of spell-casters, I think a leveled structure of spells would fit in quite nicely for this. So, say you're a Novice, and you buy a Novice spell version of this:-Magicka cost will be X amount (whatever is high for a Novice, I'd need help fine-tuning details)-1H weapon damage will increase by 15%-Movement will be slowed by 10%-Stamina will have a 10% increase of drain Apprentice:-Magicka cost will be X amount (whatever is high for an apprentice)-1H Weapon Dmg increase by 25%-Movement will be slowed by 20%-Stamina will have a 20% increase of drain Adept:-Magicka cost will be X amount (w/e is high for an adept)-1H Weapon Dmg increase by 30%-Movement will be slowed by 30%-Stamina will have a 25% increase of drain Expert:-Magicka cost will be X amount (w/e is high for an expert)-1H Weapon Dmg increase by 40%-Movement will be slowed by 45%-Stamina will have a 30% increase of drain Master...Although you would think as you go up the mastery of the list, that the penalties are reduced, the master spell will be the highest risk spell to use instead:-Magicka cost will be X amount (w/e is high for a master)-1H Weapon Dmg will increase by 55%-Movement will be slowed by 60%-Stamina will have a 45% increase of drain. The only question to answer is how long the spell should last, the magicka cost, and...What to actually name it :PRemember: The goal in mind for this idea is to have a high-risk, high-reward spell for the caster to use.
