Getting about 5 FPS at times...

Mostly in towns. I do have mods installed (overhaul) but I've tried it without them to the same effect. I can run Oblivion at a fairly solid 30fps whereas Skyrim I get less than 1 FPS... I don't know why it seems like Oblivion is the only game I'll get to play after buying these three...

Anyway, I have the FPS optimizer and I've tried to change options with MGSO but I'm not really coming up with anything. I've also disabled all shadows and installed the graphics extender mod, as well as manually fiddling with .ini settings. If I take my view distance all the way from 100 to 0 I get maybe 7-10 FPS more, but obviously its ridiculous to play a game like this and not be able to see it.

This is mostly down to an integrated graphics card (Intel) but it is 1695MB and I have 4GB of RAM, which as mentioned, has been enough to get me through Oblivion in it's entirety quite smoothly.

Are there any recommendations at all? Any? I've done so much searching and it just doesn't seem to want to run smoothly at all. Exploring the world is okay for the most part, but it still stutters. I'd really like to get into this game but it is such a damn chore when watching the world go by as though it were in strobe lights.

What settings do you play Oblivion and Skyrim on? If you get 30 fps in Oblivion there's no way you should get 1 fps in Skyrim. My framerate is better in Skyrim than it is in Oblivion, since I'm cpu limited in Oblivion. For this Morrowind problem, how many times has Morrowind been installed on your computer? I remember I recently had massive framerate problems in Morrowind because I uninstalled it incorrectly one time. When I reinstalled, the problem persisted. I ultimately had to uninstall Morrowind officially, using the uninstaller provided by Morrowind, and then reinstall.

It's also possible you just don't have a strong enough integrated card for MGSO. What are the specific spes of your PC, and on what settings do you normally run MGSO when it first asks you at the beginning of the install?

I always set everything on low and disable all unessential options, like AA, shadows, details, distances... with Oblivion I play on low but with high texture detail and pretty balanced viewing distances and it really runs very smooth. Skyrim I think is a lost cause, I have never played a game where my FPS has been so low and even with installing reduced texture packs and mods I can't get it to run at a playable rate at all - it takes about 3 seconds just to draw my sword!

Morrowind has been installed once, and I tried it completely vanilla and hit 30 FPS indoors, but I get about that now anyway, but as soon as I go outside its dropping rapidly. I get about 5-15 FPS most of the time outside, picking up to about 20 when out in the world. It is still playable but just... I wish I could get the smoothness I achieve with Oblivion. It really is a shame. I've tried all of the modifications and mod suggestions that I have been able to find and I just can't seem to get it fluid.
