Kresselack
The stance you hold a warhammer in Oblivion is impractical and unsafe. A warhammer is best wielded horizontally with your hands apart. The weapon is swung in the mods rediculous way. I have actually tried swinging a sledgehammer like the way you do in Oblivion. My body was nearly pulled by the weight of the hammer, leaving a nasty hole in the fence and a sore back. The correct, or atleast better, way to hold a warhammer http://wiki.l2wsupport.com/images/e/ec/Greataxe.jpg

Warhammers and Axes are way too short anyways, so a proper stance can not be done.
Kresselack
Perhaps the screenshot was not a good enough example. The warhammer's handle is not ''too'' short. Heres a better screenshot http://runegame.com/images/wallpaper/rune_...n_goblin800.jpg The one on the left with a hammer displays something related
Lip
Your right the warhammer stance in Oblivion isn't right, its best suited for a claymore like you say. And yes your stance you give would be a perfect one. That mod should be made in order to add more realism.
SoulReaver911
I would like to use a mod that gives the character the right stance, but in first person mode, I'm not sure it would look much different.
