No Mods Working

I have tried downloading a lot of different mods for skyrim but only the texture ones are working. I have been downloading them with the mod manager so I'm sure they are all going to the right directories.

 

I have played oblivion with mods and it worked fine so I think i know the basics of getting mods working.

 

Also I downloaded both oblivion and skyrim I didn't buy them. Sorry but I bought them both for xbox 360 first and it seemed unfair that I should pay again for both on the PC.

 

Any help is appreciated, I really would like to get mods working it's what makes the PC version different.

If you are using NMM then don't start the game via the launcher, start it with tesv.exe or the skse shortcut if you are using script extender. For some reason if I use NMM, then open launcher, simply opening the launcher forces all my mods to get unchecked in NMM. I am guessing that is your issue.

 

Also, lol, I would advise against openly admitting you illegally downloaded the game. Lots of internet police on here that will jump all over you for that one :)

Yeah I know its illegal but I paid for the game once and I really didnt see the point in paying again just to get some mods for it. Anyway thanks for your comment I actually looked into a few guides and edited SkyrimPrefs.ini so the 'Data Files' option wasnt greyed out anymore (Yeah i didnt think anything of it before) so now it allows mods to work.

 

You paid for a license to use the software on a chosen format, so no excuses. Just because you have it on one platform does not mean you get a free copy on another.
