Veslar
Well...perhaps not noob in gaming, but noob for sure in managing mods in games like Skyrim. I got myself knee deep in several bugs, but find my way around most, except for one. Some might have experienced it as well - the quest TG 02 ( Loud and Clear ) for the Thieves guild refuses to start after the completion of Taking care of business. After speaking with Brinjolf he starts to wander randomly at the Ragged flagon usually ending up in ridiculous places, refusing to open the infamous wardrobe and walk to the Cistern. After an hour of research, it was quite obvious the reason is some mod. I tried the usual way of using console commands through some bugged quests and managed to enter the Cistern, spawn Brinjolf to me and add myself as a member of the Guild. Brinjolf was unimpressed and simply walked to one of the side rooms, Mercer paid me no attention and the thieves there acted in a friendly if not very conversational manner. Then I started Dampening spirits via the console, but that made Tonnilia irresponsive. The quest TG 02 does not start even through the console. Up to this moment I am starting to run out of options. I am not certain which mod is causing problems, but I read somewhere it might be Undeath. Most of the mods I use are tested in a previous playthrough, where no such problem occurred. The most obvious way would be to disable my mods and complete the quest and here comes my noobness. I am uncertain how to do that safely. I use around 230 mods, and even in that very moment my acc is filled with modded equipment, which removal will probably lead me to a nice trip to an error message on the desktop. Would appreciate any advice and thanks in advance!
Deleted54469682User
If i were you then i would suggest disabling all of your mods and reloading the game one by one to figure out which one is causing it. This is very tedious and annoying to do since you have 200+ mods but it may help you fix this problem. Hope you figure it out!
Deleted38846565User
What Dow said could work, other than that, have you tried Wrye Bash or Loot? They can help alot with load order and conflicts, if you're not using them it might would help.

It sorted the mods to begin with, but there was the occasional bug every now and then. Primarily there were bugs with some NPC's behavior, but right now the most notable bug is the quest with the Thieves Guild. I am really NMM user and prefer the manager to handle most if not all of the work. Now, if I have a quest already started by some mod and I disable the mod, wouldn't that bug the game even if I enable it later?
