It seems to me that the tech support requests, for the most part, fit under just a few basic categories: graphics, especially shadows; lagging/stuttering; crashes/failure to load; or hardware compatibility. (Maybe I'm missing somethig?)

Every time someone attempts to help someone with one of these issues, they have to go through the same basic steps: what are your specs, did you do a,b, and c...

 

It strikes me that while the main skyrim discussion page has pinned threads, the tech support does not. I wonder, would it not help a lot of people with problems as well as those taking the time to help them, if there were a pinned "Before you post" basic troubleshooting guide?" Posters with problems often get impatient and frustrated if someone does not respond right away, so pinned basic troubleshooting guide would give them an immediate form of assistance. I know when I am trying to help people, it gets tedious to go through the same basic questions, and I imagine others trying to help might feel the same way.

 

I really don't know the politics of this sort of thing. I would be happy to help create such a document, although I do not claim to have expertise and certainly could not produce anything worth pinning on my own.
