Dempcey
Hello Gang! I wish to move my FO4 folder to another drive. After doing so, will I need to reinstall F4SE or, will F4SE know where to launch FO4 from after move? Thank you for the read!DK
WastelandAssassin
if you move the game's folder , you will need to be sure that you move the entire folder (this includes all the F4SE files , as well as any other files you may have installed into those directories)if you'll try launching F4SE without properly moving it with your game , it won't work

bbiller
If you have things installed through Steam, that can move things, just double check that everything got moved out of the needed folder to the new location once the move is done. Process:1. Set up the new directory where Steam can store that or other games.2. Inform Steam that that location can be used as a game repository (search Google for that step, instructions aren't too bad as I did that to have Steam use a second hard drive as a game install location).3. Go into Steam, find your game in the list, right click on it, options for moving the game will be in the properties for the game. You may have to hunt a bit, but the earlier Internet search mentioned will cover that).4. Adjust all settings for game location in NMM for each option of items that can be run for the game (Normal Fallout 4, Fallout 4 with Scrpt Extender, Custom Game, anything else you set). You'll find these in the options for NMM, the gear icon, though you may need to read the options in various tabs, but they are there. If you're lucky, all will already be set from the Steam move.5. If you have other editing tools installed (LOOT, Wyrebash, a among others), go to the options for those and point them to the new spot for Fallout 4.6. Once done, check for residual files in the old Fallout 4 Steam location, all should have been moved, but if not, manually move them where needed. This may mean altering a few shortcuts in Windows (F4SE's come to mind, but a re-install of the current version should fix that (If updating to newest F4SE I can confirm removal of base F4SE files in the Fallout 4 directory and running the new installer worked without issue for me last night, as I got the error that my F4SE was not compatible with the current Fallout 4). That change led to checking on a few mods I had for some new versions (process there is uninstall/delete with delete confirmation once I had the needed Nexus page up and confirmed the new version, then just re-download with NMM and activate, with proper choices made during install). Hope that helps.
