UniquenameFTW
I have 2 errors to ask for help with, although 1 may have nothing at all to really do with the mods so I'll leave that till second. Issue one was solved, I was being blind. Simply put, I'm having an issue with a texture defaulting or something. I'm getting this weird broken mesh / texture issue such as This and this. Basically, with some pieces of gear it seems to choose the default one and breaks things. I'm using the Steam / GOTY version of the game on Windows XP SP3 I have looked pretty hard through this section of the forums and found some solutions, but none worked. This included completely removing all the mods and re-installing them one by one, using archive invalidated (I tried both the NMM built in one and normal down-loadable one, Disabling one before using the other) and I use/d BOSS to re-organize the load order. Here's a list of my installed mods/load order : Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm Zeta.esm Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm EnhancedChildren.esm AliciasCuteShop.esm Sharing and Caring Companions.esm DCInteriors_ComboEdition.esm Shojo Race.esm Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.esp Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.esp Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.esp Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.esp JessiCompanion.esp Childhood Beginning.esp AliciasCuteShopDoorOverride.esp DynamicCrosshair.esp Shojo Companions.esp AsharasLightningItems.esp 99+2.esp CRBSOR.esp UsableCigarettes.esp (99+2 is the AEV mod) If I were to guess anythign myself, I'd guess the textures for the Shojo Race / AEV for some reason don't include all the meshes/textures for all its armor or FMM isn;'t placing them correctly. But I don't know, I've never been any good with making mods and don't totally understand the structure. #### Problem 2 This one's related to the hair mod that both the Shojo and Children of the wastes mod, but I don't think they're directly at fault and I'm simply curious if someone has a work around / has also experienced it. (As is, I can just avoid it without a great deal of effort). Basically some of the hairs that are added to the mod make these squares pop and flicker around the end of the hair like this : link Whilst annoying tho, this isn't the big issue, the issue is if they stay on screen for more than a few seconds it will black out and I will not be able to see anything unless (weirdly) I tab out of the game and back in. (Moving cells will not make the graphics reappear) I avoid this by simply not going to the "bunker" with the SCC companions in and not using one of the hairstyles that cause this. However when I go to the cute shop near big town it happens almost instantaneously when the shop owner appears. I can blindly walk around, click on her and buy stuff and then stumble my way out of the shop and then tab in-out to fix it, but it's somewhat inconvenient.(To the point where I've never seen what she looks like). ~In case it's a hardware issue of my own (would not surprise me, I suspect it is) I'm using an Nvidia GeForce 7900GS (Overclocked, but I tested with no overclock and the "crash" still happens) on a 2GB of RAM Win XP Machine with a 2442Mhz Athlon 64 3700+ (Again overclocked, but again no overclock makes no change). I have suspicions it may be my graphics card since it's always been a little wierd. Opening the setting menu for example will make the monitor act as if the resolution changed, even if it didn't, if I have the monitor on standby when I boot the PC it will never ever under any circumstances turn on (Have to wait till after the BIOS beeps to turn it on from completely off or I have to shut off the PC to try again) amongst other funky behaviour. No matter the drivers I'm using. If it is the graphics card, does anyone know what's specific about the hairpieces that cause it (I think it's some fancy transparency) and if I can turn it off / remove those hairs without everyone going bald? # sorry for the pageful, but I didn't want to miss anything obvious. I'll be poking this thread all day so just ask if you've a question and I should respond in an hour or two. UniquenameFTW
I solved issue 1, I had managed to misread the install instructions several times and simply not installed the body textures x) I would still like help with issue 2 however, I have no idea what's causing it, although I do think it may be my gfx card. UniquenameFTW
I used http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/4280 but re-read it and realised I had not downloaded the "v2 texture pack" on the same page as the other downloads so that's probably what you missed too. I decided to install it manually since I have no reason to turn it off (Can't clash/crash with anything since it's just models) and it worked perfectly. If that doesn't fix it, I don't know, I'm not particularly great at this sort of thing :P
