wesaynothin
Yes, a great night at the Oscars! LOTR:ROTK won all 11 nominations, tying that many oscars with Titanic and Ben Hur. For all of us geeks, It was a truly great night in Hollywood. ^_^
Acoran
I knwo it was crazy, they took like everything they were nominated for, exept acting......So the people don't like the acting....they were still AWESOME movies......
Muennin
I believe, that as a true trilogy, these films received more Academy Awards than any other trilogy-or single film, for that matter. I'm glad Tolkien's works are now in the "film" history books, as well.

ohGr
hmm, its on TV right now here in australia, not too special, as usual, a good majority of the actors cant speak english properly, clearly, stupid people as well....damn do they ramble on.... but..uhh, as usual, i couldnt care any less on who gets what, in my opinion, its just like saying "nice movie, now **** off", only in some person with alot of money's perspective...no not me, i may be 14, but i only make $30 a week. and once again, i am amazed about the amount of people here who say "lol" more than the Counter-Strike nerds who play 6 hours a day
loveme4whoiam
I saw a little interview with Elijah Wood at the One Ring party afterwards before i went to college. He said that the Best Director award to PJ was the one they all wanted, since he has spent seven years, seven years of his career making. An excellent achievement by cast and crew. We all knew it was brilliant, so its nice that the Academy do as well.
Maquissar
I didn't have the chance to see the Oscar night on TV, but I'm glad thatThe Lord of the Rings received so many awards because it really was agreat trilogy, or better, a great MOVIE :) Yes, I know that TECHNICALLYit was the Return of the King that won 11 Academy Awards, but I really think that they meant to award the whole trilogy as a whole :)
ohGr
now that you mention it, i am really pissed The Lord Of The Rings won one of those sound awards compared to pirates of the carribean or master and commander, the sound editing was crap compared to them, if you have Dolby Surround with the 4 speakers at all four corners of your room, a big TV, loud speakers, the fighting scenes in master and commander are amazing, as for Lord of the rings, i finally got to sit through the other half....i say....nothing special, reminded me of that Night Of The Living Dead movie, interesting to watch the first time, just a normal movie with a big budget. Muennin
Obviously this comes from one who hasn't bothered to read Tolkien, as you previously stated, ohGr! Aside from the fact that the films you prefer had actual real-life resources to draw from-if you're gunning for a flame war, you're outnumbered and outgunned here, methinks. Anyone ever heard an Orc horn, or an Elven battlecry? Examples are limitless... Perhaps "Cat In The Hat" would suit your fancy... :whistling:

Honestly I think Two Towers was the best out of the trilogy.
