Copying blueprints is a good method. You can also use Grinning Fool's Creature Creation Wizard to make creature blueprints from scratch that will have all the default scripts set.

This is a toolset plugin. Like all toolset plugins, it would go into My Documents\NWN2\NWN2Toolset\Plugins. You need to select the option to show all plugins (not just Obsidian ones) from the View menu in the toolset. Toolset plugins can be really helpful, and Grinning Fool's are particularly good (Obsidian hired him to do stuff like the Auto-downloader we now enjoy).

While on that subject, is there a good plugin for NPC appearances? The one in the toolset seems to crash all the time. When I change appearances in the properties, it tends to not show up on the Armour Set preview until I re-click on the NPC in the blueprints tab, and it's pretty sluggish.

Grinning Fool's creation wizard should work for that too? I've been writting dialogs since forever, but never went into NPCs appeareances-- unless I really wanted them, in which case I used the basic system from the toolset.

Hi Falkner - welcome to our world http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif

I can definitely vouch for the Hitch-hikers Guide - it covers the basics of adventure creation really well in language even I can understand - so must be good.

For a more complete guide to much more, especially what all those mysterious little tick boxes & options mean that cover every aspect of the toolset - placeables, conversations, creatures, etc. - I'd recommend Bob Hall's Toolset Guide: Bob's guide on the vault

It comes in several volumes & goes into more detail than anything else I've ever seen, but in a way that's helpful - explaining what everything does, and how to do a lot of things that are otherwise a little mysterious - like starting a conversation with a placeable.

Re scripting in particular - I'll be the first to admit I hate the thing - so Lilac Soul's script wizard is a godsend for me. Someone revised it & posted their version on the vault which I now use instead, but for some reason, I can't see it right now - but the original's here: Lilac Soul v2.3

Don't be put off by it being listed for NWN1 - almost everything it creates works as the scripting systems are pretty much identical (so I'm told).

Happy building!

Cly.
