my computer crashed; lost saved games :(

I've never posted here before, buuuut I'm having an issue. My computer crashed about a week ago, and while it's fixed, everything is still basically lost (the guys that fixed it said they could get my games back...but they didn't). I have the Oblivion: GOTY edition. I had well over 100 hours of gameplay, I'd estimate I was about 3/4 done with the game, level 24 or something, lots of items, every house bought, plus I had Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine completed and alot of other mods on there (The Lost Spires to name one---completed). I re-installed the game but of course, my saved games are gone. I did do a backup of my game, but I just backed up the data folder. Which doesn't help at all in this case.

 

OK, so my question is: is there any way to download someone else's saved game? I know there is a section in the downloads section for saved games, but they are all right at or before the sewers exit at the beginning of the game. I'm not looking for anything perfect to what I had, but is there a saved game that's farther along than that? I use cheats so I don't have a problem fixing what level I'm on or anything, but I'm mainly concerned with how far along I am in the plot of the game, with all of the little side quests and the main quest and all. I love this game, but the thought of having to do every little quest over again is just...blah.

 

Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated.

Well, instead of getting someone else's save, you can artificially get back to where you were via console commands. If you remember most of what you've done check out these.

It might take a little bit of work, but it's a solution. The mere chance that someone will have a save game that's very similar to your old one is next to none.
