Dardojs89
Skyrim has its bugs, its glitches, and walls that once faced can ruin your game. You add mods to that dirty cocktail and you have yourself a nasty poison. Solitude, a city I've been trying to become a Thane for - appears to be RIDICULOUSLY bugged. The first quest with which I encountered troubling issues was Torryg's War Horn. I played several hours and despite all my best efforts, nothing could be done about the quest to complete it + buy a Solitude house afterwards. After loading back far enough, I was able to complete that quest and get the house without Falk Firebeard just staring at me blindly after saying the wors "Welcome, heres your key to your new home" The quest following this one, appears to be the one that's tearing my Bum orifice apart. After going to Dead-Mans-Respite several times, clearing the whole thing - no matter what I do, the RUBY DRAGON CLAW WONT ACTIVATE. I clear the dungeon, and do everything - but the stupid ghost stays at the "Sealed Door".At that point, the only way of escaping the dungeon is by using No-Clip and flying back up towards the exit. So what I did, was I loaded back to a save where I DID have the War Horn completed right, one where I DID buy the house and then I saved outside of the Dead-Man's Respite dungeon. I loaded it, and under console command setstage to the "return to Viamo" part + I "Add.item Olafs verse" . Since the DMR quest, everything has turned to sh...stuff I need to complete 5 quests to get Thane title, and despite anything I do... EVERY SINGLE QUEST DIALOGUE GETS STUCK AT THE FINAL PART. Instead of going through with the animation of "Conversation closing", it displays the last option I selected and forces me to press TAB to end that conversation. The problem with this, is that it cuts out the "Quest Completion" - process that follows the end of particular convos. This is ruining my game :( I can't seem to play anymore with that character because every quest is in-completable. It might be due to some mod, and after de-activating a whole bunch of them , I still seem to have that problem. If anyone has the knowledge or even idea as to which mod this might be, or what console command I can use to remedy the situation I'll be posting an attachment with the mods I have installed shortly. Others will be more experienced than I, but from what I've seen recently, I'd guess that the problem is caused by Steam. They force an upgrade of Skyrim on you (without your knowledge or permission) as soon as it's available, without allowing time for the authors of the mods to adjust their mods to the new upgrade. (Most players want to wait a while before they upgrade, then download the revised mods.) Someone called this behavior of Steam "belligerent incompetence". Povuholo
Skyrim hasn't been updated since March though, so that's not it.

I tried starting a new character, and it wouldnt let me get ahold of the character when the dragon starts attacking. Ideas? Fixed it. Took off Travelers of Skyrim and something else and it started working again. Phew Edited May 19, 2012 by Dardojs89
